Are my plants ready for harvest? PICS

So its day 51 into flowering and its getting close to harvest time. Im not really too sure how soon to harvest. I would say about 50% of the hairs are brown. Does anyone have any suggestions on how soon to harvest. I dont want to harvest at the wrong time and mess up the grow.

Also, ive heard that you should harvest when the crystals turn amber. Is that true? Any help would be appreciated.

they're perfect. pull them now. 1/2 amber, 1/2 cloudy, that's what you want, and that's what you have. good job.

You'll want to use a loupe or something with at least 10X - 30X to look at your trich's. Usually when about a third of them are amber, you are good to go. :peace:

Could you take a picture with a digital camera, and zoom in on photoshop?

Depends on the camera chip and MG pix. A serious macro lens might get you there, but every zoom with software will degrade the image. You can pick up a 10X-30X loupe for less than 25 bucks. A worthy investment, plus you can look like a pro to ur friends..

what is the lighting for that plant.. all cfls? how many watts?
I used six 42 watt softwhite, four 26 watt daylight and one 23 watt softwhite CFL's. So thats 379 total watts.

So any other opinions. Ive gotten mostly complements, which is cool but i need some more help on deciding when to harvest. Any suggestions???

that depends on your preference.. more cloudy trichomes = more head high, more amber trichomes = more body high.

you'll need to get a closer look. luckily, i had an old microscope lying around, but you can get a 10-30 microscope with a light at RadioShack.. it's kind of a pain, but it'll do you right. I picked one up a couple month's back when I was in the states. they're like 10 or 20 USD

i know this is quite late but EBAY has terrific magnifiers with the LED light for .99 with a buck or 2 in shipping. Comes in a week...you can't really beat that. Always go with the thichs over the hairs!

You did all that dank growing with some incandescent bulbs and a cfl?? well done if so.

Those 60-100x scopes are a beeytch to use unless you cut off a leaf that is crystal covered and close in then put it on a table to examine. You'll get a great look that way :hump:
