Hello everyone.. I wanted to get some expert opinions on whether my bud is ready for harvest. I know I'm close and I just flushed 2 days ago. I'm growing two strains. 1st is Jack Herer, it is the hairy buds. 2nd is strawberry diesel, they are the frosty and very leafy buds. Both grown in soil under a mars hydro ts1000 led light. I'm in my 9th week of flower. I posted before and just wanted to follow up with another post. Pics attached... one more thing... anyone know if it's normal for strawberry diesel, indica dominant to be so leafy with their buds??? Just curious. Thank you everyone...

Hey flushing is very effective…..for anyone choosing to smoke their medium.
As for the plants, both look like they have more gas in the tank….Especially the Jack. Let those white hairs turn and recede.
I bet both will swell a bit if given the time. Go at least another week, two would be better.

Thank you for the help... I'm still confused at some of the other posts? I have been reading extensively on flushing and figured I was a week or two out from the finish line. Why bother growing different strains if not to try to get different flavors and highs when you smoke... should I go ahead and start feeding them again.? What do you think....??

I would continue but titrate down the amounts….if she starts to cannibalize herself that’s ok and perfectly natural. The main thing is for the buds to have what they need to ripen up and continue to be healthy a little longer in case the trichs aren’t amber enough for your preferences.
The buds could be ripe with all the hairs orange/brown and receded, but there may still be some clear trichs and/or not enough ambers.
You’d like the plant to be in good enough shape to go another week or two without a problem.
Yours look good now but give them 2 solid weeks and those buds will swell and add some heft.

Thanks again... will do... last time I harvested some white widow early cause I acted in haste but it still smoked really good... this is a hobby for me and I love the science behind growing my own. Being that I'm a bit of an ADD personality, I want to do it right so I can validate my efforts. Thanks to people like you and web sites like this it helps us new growers figure out the best way to grow and I really appreciate it.

If you really want to flush I would keep feeding until they’re ready to harvest and then do the flush for a week or whatever. That way at least they have the food to continue growing til they’re finished.
Thanks.. will do...

Ok I'll say it. Flushing is for toilets not plants.
I can't believe this bro science still rears its head every other day
