Are muffler/silencers really worth it?

I've made accoustic ducting still need a muffler /silencer .

At the minute the ducting is connected and hanging out the side of the tent the exit is covered in padding and excess from the ducting that needs trimmed ..

It's not a muffler but turning the fan on even with a speed controller on there is still noise escaping out the the carbon filter ...just wondering will a muffler actually make a significant difference and still end up hearing noticable noise escaping from the carbon filter

I guess it depends on what it all iit s hanging on but it can make a difference. I could hear loudly in another room until i put on a makeshift muffler.

I like silencers. They allow me to snipe Mrs. Krupchak’s miserable almost feral feline shitboxes and the old scarecrow has no idea. So silencers yay.

i have a muffler on a 6" vortex fan that goes to a dummie register as if it were for the furnace/central air near the entrance at my place nobody is the wiser when its in use. id say they work well.
