Im a newbie, but i saw this chart on a website and it seems too good to be true. Is it right, or just a load of old sales crap?

Are LEDS the future of indoor growing?

If VictorVicious has his way!

Having a look at the chart it seems a bit skewed in favor of LEDs. Perhaps this is so but i would have to ask who made the chart (what source did you get the chart from) or another words: cui bono?

They will work fine for growing if you have enough of them, the cost is the only significant issue, you can deal with everything else if you don't mind it costing several times as much money as HID.

they'll never totally over come HID's because they can't (or at least not yet, we'll se how technology advances) compete when it comes to lumen out put and that is a huge determining factor in light considerations for most people

E-mail is right, not because I want them to, because people want to save money. It will start when new growers are listening to the old folks and instead of buyin 2 lights, fans for air cooling lights etc. will try them. Look at the ones that are using them now. almost all of them have less than 6 months here. The one's I saw from HomeGrownLights.com are still the best I Have seen for them.
Lumen output is not a good judge of much. My Mercury vapor light puts out a lot of lumens, I wouldn't use it to grow.
I will get a system of led's set up after I come back from vacation. Indica44 has posted some excellent sources of information about the LED's.
6 months tops. Mark it down. VV

hang them on your plants like christmas tree lights. no heat right? i see a future for them in this industry. i have a lot of ideas to try once they get them dialed.

I have no complaints about my current set-up but I will eventually give them a try. Besides, I like to think I will go where the evidence leads me and it is pointing right at LEDs.

How much does it cost for a LED setup that could veg and flower 5 plants? Just curious, I have seen some rediuclous prices.
