Are four 150 watt HPS better than one 600 w.

And is it possible ,with proper wiring , to use one 600 Watts elec. ballast to light 4x 150 Watts bulbs ?
If it was possible ,would it give me an advantage since there would be 4 points from where the light comes from ? . What do you think ?

Not only that, but you may keep 150 closer to the tops.

Edit: haven't noticed ballast question - I'll say no, don't do it if you have to ask it on the interwebz ;)

4x150 will give you a more even light spread so yes it would be better but I have no idea whether you could use one 600W ballast to fire them on. My guess would be no but as I said I really have no idea

the point of using more powerful lights is at least partially penetration, a 600 watt light will penetrate far down into your canopy, giving you much better results, 4 x 150s may make a nice looking canopy, but underneath that canopy, all you'd have was shitty popcorn.

not sure about being able to wire 4 to one ballast, i doubt it, but stranger things have worked. and if your ballast goes out, you're out of business till you can replace it, if you had one for each, the temporary loss of one wouldn't be devastating
