ARE CHEAP ROSIN PRESSES WORTH IT?

looking at a dulytek 7 ton, there £550 to me here, its either that or DIY one, car jack, press plates etc., but buying decent non chineese plates cost the same as a dulytek, seen some fire stories from these amazon ones at £300 and some seem fine, wats the difference? what can i get that is decent at 7 ton under £500?

7ton is garbage. You won't be able to run 2x4 plates. Not enough force. A 10t is barley enough for 2x4. 20t. Now you're talking.
You could run 2x4 plates on a 7t and just do pucks in the middle of the press plates but that kinda defeats having 2x4 plates.

Edit. Sorry I meant 3x5 plates not 2x4...

I ordered my plates direct from dabpress. Wait till there's a sale.

I disagree. 20t is overkill. 7 and 10 are just fine to press with.

Definitely agree with this though.

I would say yes they are. But for a small increase in price getting a pressure gauge and a hand pump would be much smarter than just say a 5 ton with no gauge and a shitty can

Would be my cheapest viable option

Depends on the amount after material how thick the puck and what size bags ... I find

i got a 7 tone pressed 20g of leaf no problem to the required 1 tone of pressure.
i went to 3tones no problem but thats an overkill
maybe could have gone more but didnt try had to press real hard for 3 didnt know if they could go more and i dont need to test it

dont forget bigger the plate stronger the press you have to buy.bigger surface requires more pressure to get the same pressing power

I found a dulytek 7 ton second hand. I haven’t had a desire for more tonnage for personal use.

I would suggest ProPheT 216’s recommendation. The hand pump plus the gauge is the ideal set up. This is what I really wanted but I couldn’t pass up the 7ton since it was only $50.
