Are all Rooting/Cloning Gels/Powders Created Equally?

i would not grow plants myself unless they are cannabis plants, i am just not that interested in horticulture generally
i like smoking my own weed because i prefer it to the commercial weed and other peoples weed who grow that i have sampled

clonex works so does using nothing at all
for me its kind of a non issue, that i have never considered changing as its just not important to my setup
1 £4 bottle can last years and take hundreds of clones
i tend to grow fewer larger plants so i do not need cuttings every 2 weeks on a deadline

peace
i gotcha, but honestly? I think that's a lil sad, my friend, as i'm sure you could grow some beautiful plants, I got into that years ago, actually prior to growing herb, but it's addictive, exotic orchids, or flowers in general... For me there is nothing like fresh lavender or jasmine blooming, or rare hybrid tea roses (you ever smelled a rose called the Blue Girl? It's insane! plus and on a different note, chicks dig it too)
Its all good that you like clonex, i'd never try and tell someone what works for them, that'd be arrogant of me to assume I know best for someone else, I just don't like chemicals, and clonex is chock full of chemicals. It's just me, but i'm scared of cancer, and since humans don't really know what causes cancer (oxidants, free radicals, carcinogens) The air, the sun, the water...Who really knows? So for me? I go au natural.
i'm a lil paranoid though, I don't use DLS in my soaps, triclosan in anything, or aluminum in my anti-perspirants either...

Willow bark extract is great at getting lots of roots. Olivia's gel has it in it. That's why I use it. And I tested 18 of them in the same Cloner. 25 clones of the same 2 plants in each gel. Olivia's won. More and the fastest for all clones out. And first roots and the most roots.
But don't ask me, I only cut 500-1000 clones a week.

i knew you would find it a little sad, and i understand that, from your perspective it would be a sense of loss for you to imagine your life without all your plants
i do enjoy flowers and plants, but i am happy to let others grow them since they could do an adequate job

when it comes to weed, i have to grow this myself there is no other option, i'm not smoking other peoples weed
if it was consistently as good as mine (the way i like it) then i wouldn't grow weed either it would be less hassle to buy it

i find your position not sad but unnecessarily overcautious, perhaps even a little paranoid
i do not fear cancer myself, perhaps i should, since many of my family members have died as a result

aspartame is feared by some (minority) as a cancer causing agent
others drink it down like there is no tomorrow

i would hazard a guess that there is more chance you will be struck by lighting resulting in fatality
than die as the result of clonex induced cancer
although i concede clonex is just another agent to avoid in a long list of things to avoid

i did read somewhere a list of possible cancer causing agents even those where the risk is small (aspartame)
its a huge list and includes common house hold items

some people that avoid all these things are doing so because of fear and a belief system populated by hippies and youtube
with some science and tree hugging thrown into the mix , its a kind of lifestyle, and i respect this and accept it, you might be right after all

although too much worrying about things (stress) is not good for your health either

peace

Artificial sweetener of any brand are very unhealthy. They cause MS like symptoms that you die from in less then two years. MS doesn't kill for decades. The rise in obesity, sugar issues, and many other problems started the same time as them and fake butter, margarine. You really don't know much about the world do you? And I guarantee, 10000% , you weed isn't all you think it is. Mine is so sweet and tasty you can pull a bud off at anytime and smoke it. Hydro grows chelate filled buds.
The first step is to realize your an idiot. Most never make the first step.

I grow organically too, but I find myself shaking my head at some organic gardeners such as yourself. "Hydro grows chelate filled buds"?? Care to explain this ditty?

It is my understanding that plants uptake nutrients in *exactly* the same form whether those nutrients are derived from a synthetic source or an organic source ( through mineralization). Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm always open to learning something new. If you could drop the holier-than-thou attitude first that would be great.

no need to be a dick about this, he wasn't being aggressive.....

I do agree with you, ANY artificial sweetners are scary as hell, not "thought" to cause cancer, but in fact causing tumors in lab rats, but it's legal to use, and triclosan as well.
I work in the auto industry, everything I touch causes cancer, even clean engine oil...
Don't be aggressive man, we are all friends here, for the most part.

Nice cuts and fresh water is the only thing you need! But when roots do appear i like to use rapid root along with OG Tea Web Star Root!

With most nutes they don't make it the size the plant can uptake or it's not up taken fast enough. So they use another chemical that attaches to the nute and the plant so the plant can use it slowly but the plant won't discard to fast. That chelate stays in the plant even through the rinse. Some use niacin as a chelate and that gives a face flash when you smoke it, not the weed.. Sorry I come across like a know it all elitist. Get tired of these idiots on here that have never done the things they bitch about. Ask a honest question and I'll answer.

Sorry I'm getting tired of some of these guys that have never even tried what they bitch about. I'm responding to the multitude of posts I've seen him and others like him trash others in. He is very aggressive with many on here.
And I retired from auto industry and my brother got testicular cancer from the auto industry. My hands and joints hurt from all the chemicals we used.

aww damn, i'm sorry man, that's why i'm paranoid about cancer, I take a whole bunch of diet supplements to help with the free radicals and carcinogens, i'm a firm believer in good quality nitrile gloves and protection.
I had back surgery at the age of 33, and my wrists, hands, knees and fingers are worn... It's a tough job, for sure.
If you two have a history, than I got that, it just looked to be a lil agro, and this site is kinda over-run by aggressive people, which I find to be weird, considering we are all supposed to be potheads here.

Clonex in an ez clone is what I use but have had the same success rates using just plain tap water in the ez clone, the only time I found the rooting gel to be detrimental was a few times I had to clone in rockwool cubes

hormex powder number 8 "for difficult to propogate" is the strongest and cheapest hormone on the market by far. works miraculously

dont waste your money on these overpriced gels and crap, ive used them all. distilled water, hormex. you can buy it in bulk enough to clone 5 thousand times for a hundred bucks or so.

Many rooting products don't even contain rooting hormones. It's sort of crazy how many of them are actually just tiny bottles of diluted nutrients.

I was just at the hydro shop to get a rooting product, and checked each product only to find that dip'n grow is by far the most concentrated and sold in the largest amount for the money.

1% I3B acid, 2fl oz of product. That's the best deal I've found yet!
