Arc's Pure Kush Bubble Bucket - 1st Hydro!

It begins again! Right now, I have a clone growing in my 1st ever bubble bucket, and I felt it was time to share. In fact, I've been holding out on the journal for far to long, as the land was barren of rechargeable batteries.

I got to thinking about doing a bubble bucket after my friend Carl showed some interest in DWC grows. I did some research of my own, and I was astounded by the productivity and effectiveness of the bubble bucket. I got to work on making one of these as soon as I had the chance, and some spare cash.

The plant got transplanted into the bucket January 30th.

The strain is Pure Kush, an indica dominant strain, which cost me $13 at Nature's Apothecary, a Denver dispensary.
I got all of the materials for building the bucket and the reservoir at Home Depot and Walmart.

The bucket is based on Rumpleforeskin's design.

I bought General Hydroponics FloraMicro and FloraBloom, and I use the Lucas Formula to feed my plants. I also got my pH up and down on ebay.

I can't wait for everyone's opinions on it, I think it's done tremendously.
But enough talk, time for plant!
Here it is, in all of it's glory. I bought it when it was about 8" tall, with very slight yellowing in the bottom leaves, started in a large rockwool cube as a clone. Now it's pushing 2ft vertical and 2ft horizontal, after only 2 weeks of growth! Also, after the second day, roots were already popping out of the net pot! Now there are so many, it could fill a spaghetti pot!

Time for an update, and there hasn't been a better time for one yet.

I set up a little veg room, with t-2's on the ceiling and a hanging CFL. The Pootie Tang seeds were planted 2 days ago, and have yet to show themselves.

My friend and I built a light bar with a reflector, using a 26" x 16" sheet of aluminum, a wire coat hanger, and a $15 wall mount light bar from Home Depot.
It looks beautiful, and it's here right when the plant needed it.

The sheet of tin was measured, cut, and bent an inch from where the light bar meets the center of the sheet. It's secured with 4 1" machine screws with washers. It hangs by two pieces of the metal coat hanger.

Here's some pictures of the Pure Kush, in all of it's glory.

What's the holdup, dude? It's megafun, and you can hide one in an empty computer! I can't wait to see!
you my friend are now a bubble head, LoL. way to go man, looks great!!
I am happy with the bubble life. It really seems to get the job done. I never saw or predicted these kind of growth rates from soil. Thank you!

I used aluminum tape, which is silver, and metal. The brand is VentureTape. It's literally aluminum with a tape backing. A friend of mine uses it to insulate piping, it works perfect for wrapping the buckets.

I would recommend picking up some GH Liquid Koolbloom when you switch to flower. I have been using it and love the results. I see alot of GH bashing on these sites but I'm more than happy with the results I get.

Man, it's too late for me! I already switched, a week ago! The budsites are beginning to show up. I use FloraGro, and FloraBloom, in unison with the Lucas Formula: http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-marijuana-growing/348283-lucas-formula.html

I haven't seen this kind of GH before, the 0-10-10 scares me. What does it have that the other doesn't, other than an adjusted N-P-K? I might have to invest in one of these: http://www.hydrogalaxy.com/nutrients-supplements/performance-nutrients/liquid-koolbloom-55-gal/?gclid=CK7W0J_h7bUCFahDMgod_lcAbQ

Also, all those dissing on GH are the same as those dissing on MiracleGro. They used it on their first grow, the grow sucked, they blame the nutes. :p

After some research into the new FloraNova and Liquid and Powder KoolBloom, it seems that I may be implementing these into one of my future grows. According to my research, it seems that either would be of great benefit to the plant. I'm not sure on whether or not it is a standalone nutrient like FloraBloom, or an additive like CalMag. Do yu use it in place of FloraBloom? Whatcha nute regimen, homie?

The Koolblooms are used in addition to your normal nute solution. They are bloom boosters. I use the liquid from about week 2 in flower until about a week b4 harvest. I start out low then work my way up to full strength. I haven't used the dry koolbloom but from what I understand it is meant as a final ripener to be use in the last week. I would say that using the liquid koolbloom has really fattened up my buds and a quart of it will go a long way.

I use the GH 3 part with the liquid koolbloom and florablend supplements. The koolbloom is only used after week 2 of flower and the florablend is used throughout. The florablend is just a plant booster, helps with nute uptake. As far as nute levels I grow in hempy buckets filled with perlite. I use the GH simple drain to waste schedule with a few modifications based on how the plant looks. Im not sure what you would need for a DWC but I'm sure someone here would be able to help you with that
