that wouldent be worth thinking of the total that could have been killed by him.
sorry i havent been keeping up with the news, that realy ill putin has lost the plot big time, wonder what drugs hes on for the cancer that make your face swell up like that, or what combination of drugs hes on. whatever they are, his last mission to wipe out towns, cities and cottages that pose a serious threat. hes trying to get the ussr back isnt he, well it looks like that to me, but it would mean total anialation for russia, as theres too many countrys that have signed up to nato ig memory serves

The 5.56 bullet is fully jacketed and designed to wound not kill, the premise being it takes two more soldiers to carry the wounded one out. If it makes the general populous feel safer to simply ban AR style rifles then we should ban them or at least require that newly manufactured ARs have fixed 10 round magazines. It won't amount to much of anything unless we address the reasons why so many people wake up in the morning planning on shooting up a school or supermarket. How do you even start to identify mental illness never mind when it's an 18 year old psychopath/sociopath your looking at and what do you do then? The Buffalo Supermarket shooter had a hx of mental illness and I'm betting without support that the majority of mass murderers have a known hx of mental health issues. Here in Massachusetts if you want to buy a firearm you have the be vetted by the state police, FBI but it's the local police department who ultimately decides if your a "suitable" individual. The problem with the local police deciding suitability is reminiscent of the Jim Crow era. One more place for racism to creep in. I'm all for reducing the number of firearm deaths but you can't have my guns because they were lost overboard while fishing. 32% of our population own firearms but only 50% of us vote so things are fucked up for sure. Legitimate gun owners fear the domino effect where giving up the right to own a Mini 14 will lead to giving up all their gun rights. The magazine capacity here tops out at 10 but with a bit of practice you can slap in a fresh mag in a couple of seconds max. There's your 30 rounds and its out of a handgun in less than 30 seconds. The scotus will NEVER constitutionally shoot down 2A so what can we realistically do. The problem is much bigger than black rifles with a bayonet lug, flash suppressor or pistol grip so what do we do? My gun owning friends are as heart broken as anyone over the deaths of these kids but demonizing them you want help. Win them over to your side with logic and good sense and maybe in a couplafew generations things will change

All military bullets are fully jacketed as per the Hague Declaration of 1899 which prohibits expanding projectiles
Yeah, but for civilian hunting use they can be lead and expanding with nylon tips and such. Teflon tipped too, cause ya never know when ya might come across a deer in body armor. Steel jacketed rounds are banned for hunting in many places.

For the ones that don't know what AR stands for (wikipedia):

"Although Colt owns the AR-15 trademark, the "AR" in AR-15 stands for "ArmaLite Rifle", not assault rifle."

But people here are too hostile to discuss anything reasonably, or lightly...so am out.

Peace!
what the motherfuck does it matter what you call the device of choice for the mentally disturbed school shooters? you could call the guns Herberts, and the kids would still be dead, because we have shitty Herbert laws enacted by republican politicians that take bribes from the Herbert industry.

Yep, giving Donald controlling interest in a oxycontin company with a republican congress and he would eliminate his base in two years!

Repackage OxyContin and call it TRUMPSOMA! Donald could promote it at his rallies and give out free samples to get em hooked. Use with alcohol for an extra kick, wash it down with a Trump beer, market to his base, forget the highbrow market Sell the things America's white trash buys, like cigarettes, beer and OxyContin, Trump speed too, if he can get away with it. Selling Trump steaks and other fancy bullshit to New Yorkers ain't the way to go. Remember it won't matter to Donald about killing off his base, he can't see that far ahead anyway. Christians will be his biggest customers!

As one who has spent time down the oxycodone rabbit hole, I find this crass.

That is an even more insensitive response.
It wasn't suppose to be conciliatory, it was written to illustrate the hold Donald has over his base, not a serous policy suggestion. However I do think a more enlightened approach to drugs and addiction is required, here and in America. Giving some opioid addicts what they need is part of it and it is modeled on some European approaches that are successful.

Being offended by something you read on the internet, is like choosing to step in dog shit, instead of around it. Look at people in a larger context, more holistically.
