Anything positive?

Everthing is so bleak. the threads, the media, the future in general.
All I'm reading/watching is one horror story after another.

Doesn't anyone have a positive outlook?

Here's my positive thought.
As a nation, we have had our backs against the wall countless times.
Against all odds, we find ourselfs the worlds most powerful nation in history. That is not an accident, that is the strength of her people.
We might fall, somewhat, but if anyone can pick themselfs back up it would be us the american people.
sep 20th to 29th 2008 For the first time in my life, the people spoke up loud enough to be herd.I take great pride in that. The hippies had Vietnam, the blacks had the civil rights movement. We fought against socialism and won.
regardless of the consequences, we did the right thing.

If the economy tanks, then everyone will lose their jobs and loot stores to get food. But when all the food is gone, they will turn on each other. And only the strong will survive! The weak will be culled, and there will be a new chapter in human evolution!

Doctor Pot I agree with you. As soon as a little panic hits, the grocery stores will go first. We are extremely overpopulated, it won't take long at all and a lot of people will be hungry (desperate). Back in the great depression, most people weren't affected by it because they lived off the land to start with. It's not that way now. It's scary when you set and think about it.

"If we don't get this fixed immediately, the world will end tomorrow!"

That was last week. If they want to have a recession, don't participate.

(I was proposing this to the wife, last night.) Let's have a nationwide chain of government run grocery stores open immediately. All financial disclosures will be made public. All executive positions will be government appointed. No losses will be subsidized. All contracts entered into will be regulation free. In six months time, when the carrots have turned to rubber, we will analyze the results, as a nation.

That's all fine and good, Joe ... but this time we're not up against a foreign enemy, we're up against a domestic enemy ... our federal government. Now what?

I feel like I'm being positive when I'm stocking back food, preparing a water source, building up lots of ammunition, ect, ect. We (my boyfriend and I) have the option of leaving the country. I don't want to do that unless we have to, or we could get stuck here. Joepro, it is kinda depressing but don't let it get you down. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. Prepare

History will read...faced will the overwhelming might of socialism,Democracy provailed once again in 2008.(does nothing for ya huh?)
No doubt, things will get worse..but,just that one action, gives me hope for a better future. For as little as we have left, we still behold our constitution.
The constitution is much more important then a generation going hungy.

We will pay the price, and feel the wrath from the socialism monster.
...but it's a price that I welcome, like my forefathers had displayed when in doubt.
cheer-the-fuck-up!
Just imagine had we passed that bill the way it was written.
Think, China, because that's where we could have been headed.

joepro - Honestly, I can't stand it when people put ideology ahead of what is necessary or beneficial. That's why I can't stand Dennis Kucinich. Liberals love him because he's such a pure liberal, but his actions are always grounded in ideology instead of reality.

Sadly, you remind me of Dennis, but on the other side.

I got something kind of stupid, and funny at the same time.

So, here I am, getting home, I check my mail, and lo and behold it's a piece of mail from CitiBank, who I don't do business with.

So, I go up to my apartment, and open it up.

It turns out they want to loan me $5,000.

Of course, if I needed the money I wouldn't be able to get it, but since I don't need the money, they want to enslave me with a loan.

On behalf of Citibank, even though I have no control over them, nor any connection to them, I would like to rescind that offer.
