Anyone using this setup in their tents?

I am in the market for a CO2 regulator, I already have a 20 lb tank....do any of you guys have this??? Does it work well???

yeah that will work, the only problem with co2 in tents is that in my tent i rely on ventalation to keep the temps down so all the co2 gets sucked out real quick, its a bit wastefull in that respect but it still works, what i do is run the outlet tube from the tank to the back of a small fan so it is blowing co2 enriched air at the plants all the time, i set mine on a 15 min on/off cycle on the lowest setting and just let it run and it works killer

Hey BigBud! I'm a newbie but I just consulted with my electrical engineer (aka hubby!) and he went ahead and ordered that set up for our tent! We are still getting everything set up but will start a journal soon and let you know how we like it!

FatSam, how hot do you let your tent get with the co2? I've read that you can let the temp get up to 95 as long as the co2 level is at least 1500ppm. My hubby is trying to rig up a thing (he's the tech guy, I'm the green thumb!) basically a temp sensory that will only turn our outake fans on when the tent reaches a certain temp. We will have a fresh air vent for incoming air and fans on all the time inside.

thanks SSP, just placed the order 5 minutes ago, I have everything else...all is brand new over $1,700 worth of stuff........all I need is my freind to come thorugh with some "babies" and I'll be all good.....let me know how it works for you and I'll do the same.....btw, what size is your tent?

fatsam, if I may ask what size tent do you have, what size exhaust fan, I bought the one (424cfm) with the carbon filter off of HTGsupply.com for $199, I have a DR-150 5x5x6.5 I think I might have too much air flow being exhausted out....I talked to a buddy who is running a complete room 4 1000W, and that's what he told me...all I'll need to do is run it at 15 minutes at a time on the lowest setting

one more thing........If I have a air cooled reflector FatSam, if I have a fan that exhausts way more than needed, I think I should be able to leave the exhuast fan off for a decent amount of time and just let the CO2 marinate the plants, or is this wrong?

Best idea, use a cool tube reflector or just a reflector thats like a cool tube and only exhaust out of the light, not in the grow room. And maybe have a max temp switch to turn on an exhaust fan if the tent gets too hot. This way seems to be the best and lets you make full use of the CO2.

Velaur, I have 2 exhaust fans to choose from, one is the big 424cfm and the other is a little 160cfm......which one should I use for my size tent 5x5x6.5. I have an air cooled reflector so it's not a problem to exhuast from it...

i let it get no hotter than 90, even though you can go higher with co2 i still prefer temps in the low to mid 80's with co2, i read about going up to high 90's with co2 but i dont think its worth it really, i have best results when i keep the temps where i usually would

My tent is smaller, only a 3x3x6 but my space is limited. I will have a separete veg/clone cabinet as well though.

If you're a newbie then I would concentrate on getting a couple good grows in before
investing in something like C02, since it might not even increase your yields much if the
conditions aren't just right. A good nutrient feeding schedule and optimal lighting, temp,
and humidity could increase your yield alot.
I would consider using C02 in the future, but not before I get everything else nearly
perfect. Once I have a smooth running system with consistent results, then I would
introduce the C02 once I've topped out my yields.

This is just my opinion of course. People have their own ways and every one of them works.
I'm just not into spending money on things that might not really have a huge impact. But I
know nothing about using Co2 other than what I've read, so take my thoughts with a grain
of salt.

what i would do is use the big fan to cool the lights, just run the pipe so the air cooled lights supply of air has nothing to do with the tent, it willl just run strait through from the outside of the tent through the light and out that way you can put the other exhaust fan on a temp control, that way you can have the co2 soak for a bit, this is how i run mine when its cooler but in the summer i suck the air for the lights out of the tent because temps are a problem, it wastes co2 but its what you have to deal with to keep the temp in check, hydrofarm now has heat shields to wrap your hood in, i think im going to try out some of those because even when the light is air cooled there is stilll a bit of heat given off ill let you guys know how they work
