Anyone use pc fans?

I am having some heat issues and have fitted a pc fan in the exaust vent, when i put my hand in front of it, it feels like its blowing inwards, but when i blow smoke on it it sucks straight out, anyone know why its doing this, do i need to take the metal block thing off of the back of the fan?

pc fans dont move much air, just enough to ventilate a cpu, how big is your grow box/area, if it pulls the smoke out then it is probably operating just fine, what you can do is to fill up the box with smoke and see how long it takes to fully ventilate the box with the pc fan. if it takes too long then your fan is not powerful enough.

ya the metal block is called a heat sink it for the processor on a pc only lol you could attach it to or near the light and see if it draws heat away lol could work
