Anyone use Hortmans.com for clones/cuts/seeds?

Here's my experience going back over the past three months.

Hortmans provided inferior customer service. Only about 20% of my emails and Instagram messages received a response, with most inquiries left unanswered. After waiting over five weeks for an order, my requests for a delivery status update were ignored. Though they initially responded quickly on Instagram, and email, they failed to follow up so I reached out again over a week later, still nothing. This lack of communication is unacceptable for a business, and shows a disregard for customer courtesy. I tried repeatedly via email and Instagram to request a replacement for an sick clone from a previous order, but they refused to acknowledge the issue. Due to Hortmans' unresponsive customer service, I cannot recommend doing business with them again. I still need to grow out and test their genetics to determine legitimacy. I also plan to test this recent order for HLVD. At this point, I doubt they will replace anything since I'm speaking out about the poor treatment. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, but regret engaging with a company that failed to communicate or treat me with basic respect. All they had to do was respond professionally like any decent business would.
We did finally get our clones, but it took over a month to get them and we are still short a jet fuel. When they didcattivevthey were completely frozen. My partner was able to get a response from them over Instagram, but all the emails that I havecsentceent unanswered. We received the replacements the other day and they look great, but we still don't have the jet fuel and I the one that paid, not my partner still have not heard a word from them neither over Instagram or email. I am with you, there are others to but clones from that appear to have better communication.

I just don't understand why they can't take 30 seconds and respond to a customer who has spent thousands with them.. Out of the last 24 that were ordered from them a few developed Fusarium. This is not an issue that I have or have ever had to deal with in my quarantine, or operation. I reached out to them hoping they can provide replacements, I would even be willing to put another order in if they would provide the replacements with my next order. But I just can't do business with this company anymore. It's so disrespectful not to write somebody back. If this was a one-off event it went bother me, but we could go back 3 months and see this is just how they operate. The majority of messages I've sent to them go unanswered. If they could just get their customer service on point this company would be so much more successful.

If anyone knows a reputable clone company who has good customer service and legitimate products, please respond to this post. I have had some good luck in the past dealing with the clone conservatory and marijuana clones online I have detected HLVD about a year ago.

I believe in transparency, honesty and open information. That's why I am sharing my experience. If anyone has good experiences with Hortmans customer service and products, respond to this as well. I hate that this company has treated me so poorly to the point where I'm sharing this. That's the last thing that I wanted to do, I still will post pictures once they're genetics harvest, I am hopeful that what I received is what I ordered. I feel I owe it to the community to follow through

Join the weedus discord server and there are a few good vendors on there in the clone section. These vendors get booted off the servers if they give crappy customer service and spread hlvd.

I created this account just to reply to this form. We started testing aggressively for HLVD and set up a brand new quarantine with all proper protocols and isolation. I tested 12 of their genetics and 3 came back with HLVD. Repeating, hortman's clones some have HLVD. forwarded them the reports yesterday and are our testing protocol. They were tested at a lab that specifically tests for plant pathogens. I'm attaching information on the testing. Samples were collected and overseen by a former bio military specialist. I'm not here to bash them. This is a huge problem in our industry. It's reckless to get anything from any outside source and not quarantine and test yourself. I present this information to the community as a reminder of how important quarantining is regardless of where you get clones from. I'm curious if anyone else has tested their genetics for HLVD and have had a similar experience?

I ended up losing over half the genetics I spent thousands on from them. I can track fuserian to the plants I received on the last order from them. By the time I got the plants out of the quarantine that were infected with it. It had already spread to most of the others from them. I can't think of a better way to waste thousands of dollars, and all the time on this. They won't even write me back, They won't even propose a solution or acknowledge my existence. I just don't understand why hortman's won't write me back. It's nauseating and so disrespectful. I've tried so hard to give them benefit of the doubt. Even if it's a simple as them telling me they won't replace them and they want to deny the problem came from them. But there's no conversation, no dialogue. It's going to be hard to post pictures to show what their genetics are and how they perform because most of them are diseased. I am so angry. Are there any clone companies out there who know how to communicate? Who back up what they sell?

thanks for sharing your ongoing troubles with hortmans and especially the test results with the community. i was about to place an order for their 420 special but not now. i'd be pissed too having lost time and resources then given the shade. keep us posted.
BTW which strains tested negative? are you able to identify if the clones are authentic breeder cuts?

another guy asked if cap junky from hortmans was infected. i'd like to know as well. he posted a couple weeks before your most recent post and you still didnt reply. you also stated you'd post photos of the plants but you didn't. i can't read the barcode numbers on your Tumi test results. even after zooming in its blurry so can you let us know what strains tested positive and what all strains you purchased from hortmans. also you mentioned buying clones from a couple other websites. were you able to tell if those were authentic breeder cuts? i emailed hortmans the other day and received same day reply so if they're not replying to your emails then yes they're purposely ignoring you.

Would you like to pick one of our Premium clones for $250 and I will enter you in our Mystery clone deal!”
I told them that I just want to get the clones I had ordered. And since then I have not gotten a reply, I’ve asked multiple times for an updated about the order but they just refuse to communicate. It’s been almost 90 days since I placed the order l, very unprofessional!

You're randomly hear from them out of the blue.. And your issues will be solved. Communication is hideous but I think everything else they're getting on point. They contacted me and offered to reship all the ones I had issues with. The replacements look more beautiful than any genetics I've received from any company. I'll be posting pictures soon as the first round of genetics from them are in flower. I want to be honest with my experience. As I've invested a lot, and I know the community is curious and would like pictures and validation.

Could you post the link to that discord server again? Says expired when I click on it.
 
Took like 2 weeks but they came in good shape and were definitely the strains they claim to be. No bugs or fungal/bacterial diseases. Couldn't tell you about viral issues yet but will post here once I get results back from our QC lab.

Had really good experience with Get Seeds Right Here as well fwiw.

I did hear from them about 10 days ago, they said my order is scheduled to ship this week. Well, this week came and went and no shipping. I have no doubts about their genetics, I’m really happy with the first batch I got from them. It’s been more than 90 days since I placed the order it just really frustrating when they won’t communicate.

Fuck hortmans, took my money and ghosted me. I knew better than to trust these fucking thieves but they "had a cut" I really wanted and was worth the risk if it really came through. No, that was just me lying to myself, never again with these kooks.

I understand your frustration. Email them every couple weeks, eventually you'll hear back and your order will show up. It might take several months. But I would not email them any more often than once every couple weeks. Otherwise, I think they'll actually block your emails. There's been times where their website has said I'm blocked. I always think it's because I have complained but I don't know then it starts working again, maybe just technical issues, for a while they did have technical issues with their email, that's why I suggest contacting them every few weeks in case that's the reoccurring issue.

As far as the Clones that came from hortman's that were infected with HLVD, As I understand what was sent to me was dropped to shipped from possibly one of their competitors. The owner of hortman's did tell me that they're not dealing with the company that sent me the ones that did have that viroid anymore. I could say with certainty the plants that did have hlvd came in dirt, soil. Everything from them that's come in rooters has been clean so far. Based on the pictures I see on a website called sun-clones, And a conversation I had with that company, since they don't test for hlvd, I'm pretty certain that's where they dropped shipped to me from a while back. But I don't believe they work with that company anymore. So that should not be an issue. To be clear, I've never ordered from Sun clones. But based on my email to them about testing for hlvd I never would order because they don't test for it!

I am just going to consider it a loss and move on. They got my quick cash but that is all they will ever get from me.
 
Just to give you an idea of the timeline I had with them. It was almost 40 days from the time I made clear that I had some issues with some plants until the time they wrote me back saying they would get me replacements real soon. Almost a month later is when the replacement showed up. So almost 70 days +/- from the time I started complaining till the time I had replacements in hand. But here's a picture of my "hemp" clones. I set thim here for the picture. But the way they are in quarantine, there's no way for any of the runoff fluids to touch another plant. And they're all spaced a few feet. That's real important to quarantine your plants guys!! Always assume the worst, till your genetics prove otherwise. That's how keep yourself from ever getting infested someone else's problems that they may not be aware of. Plus during the bonus process that's when a lot of plants will acquire pathogens. They didn't necessarily have prior. And unless the Clone vendor holds that clone for a month or so to continuously inspect it to know that there is no pathogens, it's still a crap shoot even with something that starts out real super healthy. You never know! And to be clear, I'm not defending their slow communication. I've just been very clear from the beginning that I'm going to be transparent. I'll show these as they flower out too. Right now I have about a dozen of theirs halfway into flower. In about 5 or 6 weeks I'll probably post some pictures assuming things look pretty good.
