Anyone tried this?

So I grow sog style. Started with a 400mh in veg room and a 400hps in flower room. It wasnt giving me the yield I wanted so I put both lights in my flowering room. Great idea its perfect and buds are much more dense and yields almost doubled. Then I was left stranded with my veg room. I bought two lights that have two 40w t8 bulbs so I could adjust one light on my mothers and one on my clones. Its almost working...lol...my mothers aren't regrowing like they did. I know it wont be the same but I need them to grow a a little faster. So the other day looking in my bathroom mirror I had a brillant idea. There is a lot of extra room under the hoods of my new lights. So I am thinking about buying a 3 bulb light fixture that mounts above your bathroom mirror. I can mount this to the top of my existing light and drill holes for just the light sockets to stick through my reflector by the existing bulbs. I could then use three cfl's in them and it would double my lumens easy. The fixture for lights 3 is only 10bucks at lows and you can get them up to 8 lights. I think this would be great for cfl growers. The only thing I have seen ppl doing is using the double sockets you can buy. Just wondering if anyone has tried this yet.

I just always used scrap wood and those ceramic bulb receptacles that you see in basements. Basically same thing as you are describing, just depends on what you have lying around.

yeah that will work. depending on how much room you have you can get these 3 bulb fixtures then get the splitters you were talking about and get 6 bulbs in the 3 bulb fixture. works well for my mothers.

but i also just picked up some T8s since i moved my grow. but they are just sprouts yet so i haven't noticed a regrow problem.

Well I got it done today. Went smooth and appears to have helped a lot. I will try to post a pic. You could pack a lot of cfl's in there by doing this if you wanted.

These are the pics of my veg room and the lights. As you can see the cfl's are much brighter than the t8 bulbs. Has to help I guess. Going to put six in my moms light.
