Anyone see a problem w/ soaking broken up coco bale in compost tea instead of water?

I'm about to make up a batch of soil...Normally I would just use 5 gal of RO water for each bale, then mix it up and let it dry out a bit for a few days. Then I'd pot plants and use compost tea the next feeding...

I can't see a problem though with just soaking the broken up coir pieces in 5 gallons of compost tea for a few hours and then finishing my mix, can anyone else??

Nope. You're good. As long as the mix isn't to hot for the plant and it's ready for a feeding, you should be fine.

Thanks. And no, it won't be hot, mostly just for bio. I don't know why I haven't thought of doing it like this sooner. I'll use humic in the tea as well, this should be a good idea all around for me. :-P

Should be more than fine. I also add my humic when I do the initial wetting.

Wet

I did it up, didn't see any problems, so looks like it was a good idea  I just started adding humic to the tea actually. Some people recommend it and some don't, but I figured it it's going right in the coco, fuck it right? Lol.

I re-potted yesterday and apparently some winged ants or something burrowed into the pots and made little homes as well as lots of little babies inside the soil lol. It freaked me the hell out, I dropped a plant lol. Fortunately it was almost root bound and pretty much bounced off the floor lol. I hit them with a very healthy dose of Azamax in a soil drench....Hopefully they don't end up all over my floor lol. Guess they like Agave and molasses lol.
