Anyone running the Prism science 1000 watt ballast?

"optimized" for a 1000w DE bulb, you shouldn't dim unless completely necessary(heat issues)..................if you want to run 600 SE/DE, 750w DE hps bulbs, buy the appropriate ballast for them.....simple

Prism is an off brand and the growers house in house brand. Not sure how comfortable I would be myself in that line period.

For better quality ballast that can dim in today's market there's plenty of other brands such as solistek. Gavita makes a lot of different fixtures not just the DE ones they're known for and most of them dim and are very affordable too. Do some more research before purchasing.

???????? so which is it???........................are you planning on ever using thouies in it?
No, I doubt I'll ever use 1k,s the rep said they recommended using 1k's so that dumbasses wouldn't put in a 600 and crank it up to 1150.

Solistek is hard to find, and growers on Icmag give good reviews for the prism ballast, and it has a 3 year warranty.

Seems like you have all the answers then so why start a thread lol...........

I mean if icmag said it's good it has to be right
I posted a thread trying to get more opinions on this ballast from people who have actually had experience with this ballast. The people over at icmag DO have experience, and generally report good things such as cool running.
You have no experience with it, so if you say its bad you have to be right?

You can keep your passive aggressiveness to yourself bud done trying to help. Have a good one.

You were the one talking junk, you tell me the ballast is an in house ballast that you wouldn't trust, giving no reasons, having NO actual experience with it, tell me to do more research, then when I tell you about growers on IC that do have experience with it, you act like they don't know what they are talking about, and ask me why I posted a thread since I have all the answers! You can keep your idiocy to yourself.

Good luck grower.

I would just add that dimming an hid lamp is a no no. Bad on spectrum, hard on lamp
Which 600Lamp in particular are you looking to run?
The Hortilux Gold 600W is a solid ballast I can recommend with confidence and personal use experience.

I want to run the Gavita 6-750 bulb, Gavita claims the can be run at 600 with no efficiency loss

So you are getting a top tier 750w de bulb, and want to run it on a cheap 1000w ballast dimmed to 600w? Lol........ just buy the gavita 750 de flex kit and have a rock solid and efficient setup.

I came here from ICrag after i got banned by gypsy,......... if that makes you feel better inside; )

I don't care about ICmag one way or another, I don't "feel" anything different inside or out. No, if you read anything about the ballast it is capable of being dimmed just like the gavita. Reviews on youtube for ballasts usually don't show much difference in performance between the brands.

It was a joke, sort of..............how about you email Jair at gavita north America and ask him if his company's bulb will run optimally dimmed on that ballast, you like talking to reps.

I'll wait for the answer, you may not like it though

I'll just use my crystal ball instead of emailing him, hmm, the gavita rep just mentally messaged me to say that the gavita bulb will NOT run optimally on any other ballast! Who da thunk it?

So you'll go by youtube videos, cheap chinese ballast rep say, and icmag guys opinions but not the Gavita? who's name is on the box( phllips, partner , are the manufacturer of the bulb) ....................make's sense:roll:, i'll show myself out

good luck with your agenda of cutting corners on lighting over this cash crop, sounds brilliant
