So these little white/translucent bugs have been in my soil the entire grow. They crawl around the surface moreso at lights out but when I water during the day the all come floating to the top of the water then when the water has sunk in they all group together in little clumps going crazy like theyre having an orgy. It's quite gross. I've taken to getting a big ladel and scooping as many out while they're floating as I can but theres still hundreds of them every night.
They haven't bothered the plant at all and haven't left the pot to roam my house so I've never worried too much ..I'd still like to know what they are

Do they look like worms (fungus gnat larvae) or are the springtails? Are they crawling or jumping?
they have antenna and legs and crawl around, they sometimes dart quickly from one spot to another but i wouldnt say they jump, they most just crawl around. if you click the second pic a few times for a close up you can see what they look like quite well. ... ive no idea what any bugs are so no idea if they are gnats .. i dont think they are larvae becuause surely they would have matured into bigger bugs by now? theyve been roaming around for nearly 3 months and always look the same although the numbers have been steadily increasing. thankfull im chopping in a week or so.

Springtails, looks like. They’re mostly harmless, and tend to move nutrients around. But you can neem them.

I think they're either fungus gnats or spring tails. With gnats they will grow and start flying around quite quickly. Gnats can be easily killed off with yellow stickies and allowing soil to dry out. It's my understanding gnats and springtime are both fairly harmless but severe infestations can cause nutrients to be used up faster and they sometimes with young plants can damage the root structure.

I had gnats when I didn't vent properly during germination / seedling stage and kept the soil way too moist. One night I came home to little flies. Put some yellow stickies and dried put soil and everything was fine.
