Hi kinda like my first official thread, so excuse me if this questions has already been posted. I'd like to know if anyone on here had had experience with is system or any other's like it?

Me and a friend have been thinking about putting in a on grow. It won't be too major we still in the planning phase, want everything to go smoothly. Don't want to fuck up and buy something that's shit:wall:.

So I if anyone has had great success with systems like this.

If not I'll just look into Deep water culture as I've seen this method used.

Thanks so much for looking:lol:

That's your everyday, ordinary, bog-standard flood system. It's way overpriced, tho. Kits of things usually are.

I pay about $55 for 900x900mm (bout 3x3') trays, maybe $40 for a tray stand made from 1" square aluminum tubing & plastic Qubelok connectors, $20 at the dollar shop for a 125L storage tub for a reservoir, $11 for a water pump, $10 for an air pump, $8 for a bubble curtain. That's the core of it; then you need pots, media, nutes, light, ventilation, pH & nute meters, blah blah blah.

Flood systems are ideal for new growers. Dead-easy setup and operation, nothing to clog. If an absorbent medium is used, there's some backup water supply for each plant even if you miss looking in on the op for a day.

DWC is not new-grower friendly. Since the roots are constantly submerged, DWC relies on a 24/7 air supply. A power failure lasting more than a few hours can kill the plants.

Run a flood for a year, get practised growing plants, then try a DWC (with a backup power supply for the air pump!).

However... I have one caution.. grow partners are almost never a good idea. There really is a such thing as too many cooks spoiling the broth. If there's disagreements, revenge dob-ins to the cops are tragically common. Good luck...

So you saying that I should build my own? Okay I'd have to read up on it never built anything. Shouldn't be hard though.

Yeah I've been thinking about that, my bro was like do it by yourself too. I was including him as we have been patna's since middle school and been through some real shit. Damn that thing is over priced by those prices you just threw at me. Glad I came on here and asked because I was just going to get my share and get that bitch.

You say it's easier than Deep Water.. Glad to hear I didn't go with something that was harder. I was going to do soil but hydro sounds so much faster.

Thanks for the advice and any more to come that you post!:bigjoint:
As for now I'll continue to read as I have before. Sorry won't let me rep you need to spread more love:lol:.

I could build that for $150.00 and a dog fart.

Don't waste money where you dont need to. Invest heavily in your meters, nutrients, and lighting.

great linkage, BB! I like the little one in the YT vid. That's very easy and very scaleable.

My only suggestion to improve the DIY flood instruction would be to melt the holes with a soldering iron instead of drilling them with a spade bit. Some cheaper plastics will shatter if you use a spade bit or holesaw on them.
