Anyone here familiar with WWOOF? Farm Hosting

I just discovered this website, http://www.wwoof.org/. Wwoofing, from my understanding, is that certain organic farms become host farms, people then request to stay at the host farms in trade for 4-6 hours worth of work a day. I am highly interested in doing something like this and I would like to know if anyone here has any personal experience with this. I would like to find myself on a farm learning how to grow a variety of plants, not just cannabis. I think this would be an excellent way for myself to make friends in a particular area where I would like to move, ideally friends within the medical marijuana community.

If anyone has any input on the topic it would be greatly appreciated.

I did it a couple summer's ago. It was great. I'm going to do it again, down to Mexico and then maybe Central America.

The forums there are really helpful for getting started.

Lol I love to smoke and I suppose I could go a while without it. Was this the case for you?

I basically quit while I was doing it. Each place varies a lot, definitely don't want to go to a place where the people have a stick up their ass, that would suck for sure.

I just quit cause I didn't have any.

I would like to find a host farm that is involved with the medical industry but that might be asking too much.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I'm not saying there's none, I didn't see any when I last looked, and I imagine if there are any they wouldn't really advertise it, as it may not attract the best people.

I ended up on a berry farm in Vermont. Way cooler than it sounds, lol.

I really only looked in VT, OR, and WA.

Mmm Berries. Yeah I guess there is a lot more to life. I need to learn to kind of just go with the flow of life, let life live it's course. It might be hard leaving my friends and family at first but I am sure it will all be worth it! I am really interested in wwoofing in Ireland or New Zealand.
