Anyone germinated seeds in coco coir?

Im fed up of paper towells and keepng them damp/ moist.Glass of water.I see no reason why couldnt soak seed for 12 hrs,and put in wet/moist coco coir,bury about 5mm under coir and spray with just water,should be good ,anyone do this or maybe tried it.Thankings.

I scuff my seeds and soak them covered in a coffee cup in room temp water for a day. So far I've cracked 6 out of 7 seeds, 5 of them are doing great.

There is no reason why you couldn't go straight to coco.

I have done it but I prefer to see it sprout in a paper towel before I plant it.

I don't use the paper towel method anymore, just seems like an unnecessary step to me. I just drop them in rockwool cubes or dirt and let them go. I use rockwool for DWC because I'm afraid the seed will drop down through the hydroton all the way into the res if I don't, if it weren't for that I'd put it right in the medium. I don't see why coco would be any different as long as you keep it moist.

I just tossed them in a glass of water for a day and every one opened up.

Ive tried a lot of these ways,but im gonna go 24 hrs in water then straight to coir.I reckon you have to try these things.I like to see em pop too,but maybe its not necessary.WHO KNOWS??
Try and let you know how i get on.

24 hrs in water all popped,24 hrs in soil coco coir 60/40 first leaves cotyledons out and first leaves out.Love coconut coir.

Everyone a different strain too! they pop quicker in the tropics,but 48hrs from seed to seedling is very quick,very very quick.I think coconuts may be magic!

pop ma seeds straight into pot wi coco pre-watered wi feed
seeds r seeds they don't get molly coddled in nature if it don't pop
without pre-soaking etc then i'd rather not have it-if it's tough enuff
she'll do wat u want her to-100% success with fem n reg seeds
but hey no harm soakin if u feel u must then pop into coco she'll please u m8

yeah your right,just habit with the water overnight.Coco coir/Soil mix has given me an amazing increase in yield,and cloning with it is icredibly quick.
I will pop my next seeds straight into pre light fert coco next time.You Scottish?
