Anyone from mid michigan blow glass?

Just looking to see if anyone around the area could point me in the right direction. I want to learn to blow glass, of course to mess around with pipes but also I enjoy a challenge and it looks to be a time consuming hobby which is what I am after.

I have $4500 set aside for equipment/supplies/education. Is that going to be enough to get some good gear that I wont want to upgrade after I get the hang of it? I planned on trying to teach myself through the lampworkers bible and trial and error for the most part, just need to find a starting point I guess. Thanks in advance if anyone can help out.
