Anyone ever tried this to reduce stretch in flower??

Apple sucks ass. Thanks for not allowing me to upgrade my hard drive without buying a new one. F.U. Apple!

I've never been a fan of Apple though. I'm IBM compatible all the way.
When I was a kid I had an Apple IIe computer and my friend had an IBM XT clone. I was so jealous of him and the next computer I picked up was an old 8088-10 and I never looked back. x86 was the shit! Apple was always more about how to market an overpriced turd, look at the Lisa for example. They were always promising more than technology could really deliver at that time.

Agree! That cooler got me to thinking of the current models of the Stanley and Thermos mugs.... Holy shit do they suck now! Yeah, claims to be the same classic models and some are "improved", improved my ass.... They can't keep Joe hot for no longer than a few hours, if that. I still have an old school Stanley thermos/mug that my grandmother got me in the 90's and in 24 hours it is just as hot as it was when you first poured it in!

Then, my grandmother (before she passed), had her Stanley that was from the late 80s and it was even better!
I actually just busted out my dad's Stanley thermos from the late eighties yesterday to bring coffee out on the boat ... half way through the day ripping out 10 miles off shore my coffee was still piping hot! Love that thing. Worked just as well as my friends Yeti and I cringe thinking about what that thing must have cost him. Did you know Yeti sells a $50 insulated DOG BOWL?

Also, I feel ya on the over vegging. I'm only a week in on flowering my Monkey Juice and already I only have like a foot of height left. I was just considering whether I could do some LST still ....

Any grower that hasn't over vegged is either a really poor grower and their plants are sluggish or they haven't been at it very long. Sometimes a strain stretches way more than you anticipate, that happened to me with the GMO. I knew if needed a few extra weeks of flowering time but I didn't think that would all be in stretch lol. Had a one month stretch and ended up way bigger than I would have imagined. That stretch makes for big old logs though. So when you can manage it you get rewarded.
That happened to me with ILGM Purple Haze. That shit was growing out of control. This was the first 11 days of flower, and those plants stretched for 3 weeks straight. I had to keep super cropping them to keep them off the lights.

The farmers around here are boycotting John Deere as they are pulling that crap. And they now build everything overseas. The software is proprietary and only their techs can fix it. Middle of harvest and they might have to wait days for service. Lot of guys are hitting the auctions and buying older equipment and fixing it up. They all have big shops to work in.

Like Chevy fucking off to Mexico. Never buying Chevy again.
John Deere makes great tractors but they have milked farmers on replacement parts and even repair manuals for as long as I can remember. I was a heavy equipment mechanic in the USAF long ago and we always joked about how expensive JD parts were compared to Case and International Harvester. I currently own one of their compact tractors and it cost me $40 for just an owners manual and a basic service manual for it is around $250.

Was talking to a local mechanic not long ago that owns a shop nearby. Pays an amazing amount of money for online manuals access and much prefers the paper ones. Last Dec my 92 yo mom gave me her 2008 Saturn Vue and I had to go online to Haynes to find a manual for it. Now they send emails every few days offering deals on all sorts of other manuals. Sorry just need manuals for vehicles I own thanks. I did buy a 1 year online access for that car but haven't even tried to use it yet. It only has about 65,000 miles on it and was well maintained it's whole life . . . so far. ;)

I've always been a pretty good backyard mechanic but newer cars are a PITA. Can't hardly touch anything without wrecking a sensor or some other gadget. Time to rebuild my '85 Olds Royal Broughum Delta 88. Love that car.

I wish they made more things water proof! It's not hard to do but of course they want stuff to break now days.

Remember when refrigerators were built like tanks? After 25 years they were just getting broke in lol. My grandparents had an old one that had the freezer on the bottom and a little pedal that would kick that door open for you. They bought it new in the early 1960's. Before they had the "frost free" defrost cycle lol. That damn thing was still running good over 40 years later when it had outlived both of them. I can't remember how many times I watched my grandma defrost that freezer.
The good ol days

I much prefer an old school paper manual, like the old chiltons. Having to use a computer to work on your car is lame (unless tuning EFI).

Yeah I've always bought a Chilton or Haynes manual for every different vehicle that comes into my possession. I don't say new because I have only bought one new vehicle my whole life and that was back in '75.

I don't use my smart phone for hardly anything but if I were stuck away from home it might be handy to have online access to the manual. I tend to keep it in the car tho.

Ok, so I over vegged BIG TIME! I always seem to have that issue, almost everytime, every run. I got caught up in some things and have just been super busy.

So basically I have some nice thick bushes... Have done multiple topping and LST'ing along the way. They're compact, but very large for my headspace if that makes any sense...

My good buddy, which some of you may know in the breeding industry (AK Bean Brains) gave me some advice which I have never attempted before... But the dude is a true OG, very intelligent and has been growing weed for decades! He said this is a method they used to use way way back in the day when growing in the "trailer parks" in Alaska back when they did not have any headspace... I guess you can vision this, short ceilings in an old ass mobile home. I think he said they had 7ft total. Well, I have 6ft total and have been rocking my new underground grow op for 4 years now.... been growing for 18 and grew in a mobile home previously before I moved and got this new addition. So I am pretty accustomed to working with low ceilings.

Anyway, on to the point... He basically said this saved his ass many of times when it came to the stretch... He says that you can start them for 12-14 days on a (10-ON/14OFF) light cycle and once you get to 12-14 days, switch to 12/12 as normal. He said it would dramatically reduce stretch due to kicking the plants into flower much faster than normal. Anyone ever tried this before??? If so, what was your experience?

I am also thinking about throwing a net over top of them as well...

Also, there are more plants than seen in the photos... I have the other half of the room is partially shown in this pic, but lights are as high as they can go... Concrete ceilings...

I just flipped this morning. I am using the Hortilux Super HPS eye bulbs, used them for years and they put out a much bluer spectrum than compared to the traditional HPS bulbs... These should help a bit. Using triacontanol and kelp, bud ignitor (which actually works ime), LST and working on temps but as I said earlier in the thread, I dropped my AC remote into the reservoir and just found out yesterday the company is sold out of remotes atm! So I'm stuck on 75°...lol. I am looking to get a universal remote for now. I also pulled a few plants out of the room, they are headed to a couple different guerilla plots this morning to give me more space in the flower room for training and to keep a better height management due to over crowding.

I feel it will all work out, we will see!

I bought a thing called sensibo... its a wifi controller for your ac...check it out. It will replace your controller and you donis give it your model number and you use your phone to control the ac from anywhere

Keeps them from flowering to their full potential too.
Lets see... plants stretch to the moon and yield like shit or they stay short and nugs stack on top of each other... Ive done side by side more times than I can count and your response is very strain dependent... way better off with stretch under control or you'll have plants growing into the light with uneven canopy....

I ScroG most of my plants so stretch doesn't matter. Or just supercrop any that shoot up. Have mainly grown sativa dominants the last 20 years so I'm used to dealing with stretchy plants. Only 6.5' height in my grow room.

I feed a half dose of Big Bud a week before flipping just to prime the pump and have also done many side-by-sides and early application of bloom nutes works best with any strain I've grown. During the stretch the plants need copious amounts of all nutes to feed that growth spurt.

A few products you can use to reduce stretch are new millieniums decision. You use it the first day lot first couple days of flip (12/12) it works by sort of telling the plant that it needs to be in flowering mode NOW & as a bud/flower initiator and when using this in combo with powersi usually shortens my stretch period by 5-7 days

So along with decision using PowerSi at double(x2) the recommended strength during the first couple weeks of 12/12 really reduced stretch for me. One grow using those 2 products i accidentally kept my plants way shorter than I like so I know they can work! But just be forewarned don’t use both too much unless you really want to halt stretch
