Anyone else sick of hearing about "Cali" weed ?

im from bc, when people get caught across border with there "high grade BC bud" it makes me laugh. weed is not better because of where it is grown, but how its grown.

There are few places that share the natural high quality soil Cali has. There is a reason it is the state with the largest exports of produce, livestock, etc. It's the same reason it's famous wine grapes have been known for centuries. You combine that with the perfect weather, the hot humid coastal mountains of the North coast and you have the near perfect environment for growing. The only reason there are so many great strains coming from other areas is technology. We can now simulate these conditions almost anywhere. Before the world of high-tech nutrients and hydroponics California was one of the few places you could grow several acres of high quality outdoor bud without the help of technology. What you hear today is just the remaining hype left over from decades of great product. I don't think there is much difference these days since we no longer depend on mother nature for quality product. As a child growing up in the Redwoods I have many memories of stumbling on to massive grows and running through 8' high rows of monster cola's (and filling our pockets). Of course that is before they began killing people who accidentally walked onto a grow. We can thank the mass migration of illegals, cartels and gangs from Mexico for that one, but that is another story for another forum. I believe what you "hear" about cali bud are the remnants of a bygone era. One thing, combining the natural elements of NorCal with today's technology and you have an environment which is still tough to duplicate.

In over in new england area an EVERYONE will mention cali weed over here as if its great... what they dont realize is MAJORITY of the weed from cali thats mailed over here and sold on street is "outdoors" and is bought over there for 1600 a pound and sent here an sold for 2600 to first person adn 34-3800 to the street. Its dirt cheap cause its dry as fcuk and smells like garbo. Just looks good and smokes like a headies smoke would.Im sure people grow some fire everywhere but if you dont live there to get the fresh stuff then your prob just on the hype of "cali weed" because its from California. Im sure now that its legal in colorado people will be hyped on it if you tell them your stuff is from Colorado.

In Colorado, Cali weed is synonymous with shwag. Tons of growers loaded up their trunks with their outdoor crap and sold it here to people that didn't know any better. It started showing up in dispensaries, lol. I saw a couple dispensaries that put up signs, "We will not buy your outdoor Cali shwag." I have tons of love for California, but we have no need for the outdoor Cali weed here. Besides, Cali can't pass a legal weed vote.

maybee its easier to pass a legal weed vote in a state with 5 million people versus a border state near the ocean with 37 million people. who knows? but yeah i hear ya! people grow alot of outdo pot in cali that doesnt look as nice as indo & they flood the market with cheap prices and your top shelf indo is being bargained down. i dont agree in a statement that cali or colorado or some other state being the best. ill tell you one thing the best pot "I" ever had looked kinda schwaggy & dark & on the mids side but when you smoke it ohhh my god... and that strain was some stuff called Ayatolla...havent come across that stuff in years.....

Born and raised in cali, lived in Utah and NC and NY for a while. California has the best weed, with the most variety, and its everywhere and cheap. I'm sure theres just as good of weed in other places but by GDP the CA absolutely has the most and BEST weed!

And talk trash on the cali outdoor, it's exactly that, so don't compare it to your 'top shelf hydro'. CA has prime conditions for growing outdoor and of course its not medi headie quality but it's damn better than most outdoor you'll find. Especially up north.

I find the best is grown in "the tent".. Good strains available most places with med laws. Cali probaby has the most breeders..higher population and good weather. There are some great NW strains out there.

first of all i wasnt talking trash Guy. Second i think you would agree that in most circumstances indo sells for more than outdo and when you have a grow seen that pumps out 300 pounds selling a pound for 900 bucks does flood the market its undeniable. i grow both and like you Am Born and Raised in CALI & I DO! live in Norcal

Cali has all the og kush cuts. What else is there to know?

Get the best genetics and and the best grower and put them in a controllable environment on the South Pole...

Second of all DUDE, you are correct. There's so much variety of weed in cali it all balances out. Norcal's the best.
