Seems to be a lot of people on this site saying its a no no without an explanation why?

Used 600w mh for cloning for years and find it works very well and just wanted to see if others did the same or are you all using cfl's or florescents?

Diy dwc cloner with a 600w mh bulb and good air movement, i use only tap water for this and usually root in 7 days or less..

Whatever works. Every grow and grower can do things a bit different it seems.

I like to put clones out of the way of even the direct light of t-5’s myself. Then when I see proper growth acclimate it to the light.

Can i ask why you don't use more intense light?

I was using t-5’s in the veg tent.

I can do it in the flower room under the 600’s hps’ too. But the plants seem less stressed in the beginning to me with indirect light. They need very little to get started.

I do think more powerful veg light gives bigger stronger plants in flower.

I just use the mh bulb for cuttings/seedling and veg as imo they grow more steady and even if you get me... then the hps from second week or first signs of flower...

Clones just go in the veg tent which has always worked well or in a window mid summer..

Thanks for you input...

Because they're stupid.

Can it be done? Yep. No problem. The only thing you want to do is keep the light up off the clones about 4 to 5 feet rather than the typical 2.5 feet so you don't burn the hell out of them.

It is overkill though. You can clone under a regular T5 fixture that uses a fraction of the power just as well.

i always say find what works for you... it work as i have been using it for nearly 15years.. some on here just wont have it though..... sheep people haha

i must add i use a dwc cloner so drying out is not an issue. dont have to keep checking on them like if they where in jiffys or rockwool..
