Anyone cover the base of the plant with tanglefoot or something to stop bugs?

This could be soil, coco or hydro? Tanglefoot or something sticky at the base to stop the little bastards moving up? Any cheap options? I know putting some Dia Earth in the soil can help.

I put sticky traps on the top of my pot so it's closed, then cut a small piece so I can water.

So if a pest tries to climb up the pot it will get stuck on the sticky trap. If it spawns from the soil it jumps up and gets stuck...

It works very well but you won't 100 percent get rid of all pests... That I find very difficult.

Graveyard to all the stuff that tries to get to my plants :)

I think I'm going to add a mote and castle walls around my next baby :D

+100 Cool Dude. Do you take white plastic, cut it to size and put sticky stuff on it. Man that is a lot of bugs.

Yes.. To make your own tangle foot :

Vaseline/petroleum jelly + two stroke oil... Mix those two together and paint it around your stalk... Will make a nice sticky trap
