Anybody use clay/soil mixture?

I'm asking because i have a mix that works pretty well. The ingredients of my soil are 50% wood chips 40% clay and 10% topsoil.
My plants are strong green and healthy and i haven't had to water in a week and maybe wont have too until a few days from now.
I have tried many kinds of soil and most of them suck ass,but this mixture has given me a 100% germination rate (really 20/20 popped).
So I'm guessing it's great for seedlings,I'm going to use this mix until harvest to see if all the bs about what not to add to my soil is just a fad.

I don't know if clay has any nutritional value at all. I'm not sure what soils you've been using that suck ass, but there's plenty of them out there that are very good. I like Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.

Clay actually has a lot of nutes in it but if not cut and mixed it has no usable properties for the plant. And i used fox farms and spent plenty of money for them to burn my seedlings.

ah.....good to know about clay. Sorry you've had challenges with FF and HF. The only time I get nute-burn with these is when I give too much nutes too soon.

Clay should hold alot of water making your grow easier to maintain, as long as the overall mixture retains some moisture and the medium has some sort of nutritional value to the roots, i dont see why your plants wont love it, how fine are the woodchips you use?

Be careful! Too much clay can make it it harder for the roots to spread, slowing down your plant's growth rate... I'd recommend adding some perlite to lighten up the mixture a bit.
