I have been growing in coco coir for a while and like it. I wanted to experiment with organic or partially organic nutes. Anybody around here doing this sort of thing? I was thinking of dialing back my current fertilizer and adding some organics and beneficial fungi, but I should find someone who has done this so I dont screw up.

Oh yeah. I am currently using Organic nutes in my ebb and flow with a coco mat, rockwool, and hydroton, which are all organic mediums as well. I could not be happier with this grow except for rockwool raises the PH all the time. Next time around I'm switching to 30% coco and 70% perlite in square pots. I'm also using beneficial fungi and a lot of other good organic stuff. The Nutrients I'm using are not 100% organic but they are awesome. I'm using Botanicare products.

Wow! I am lucky you replied. It sounds like you are doing just what I had in mind.

So do you put all your nutes in your reservoir, or does some of the organic stuff get applied manually from on top?
It seems like with organics it might be nice to keep them out of the reservoir. I mean the organic nutes are poo based, no? If poo water is what a organic res would partially be, and after a while that is bound to get nasty even with beneficials, no?

I was thinking maybe some guano and other organic stuff being applied from above and only a mild salt nutes in my res. What do you think?

Would you be willing to give me your exact feeding schedule?

I don't use 100 % organic nutes. They are almost 100 % like 90 something. I don't use guano or anything like that. That would be a pain in the ass. I suppose you could If you mixed it until it was completely dissolved, but that would be hard to do. Check out Botanicare products. I'm go with the Pureblend Pro Series. They are a blend of organic nutrients. If they were 100 % Organic they would be a lot more unstable to use. As long as you flush atleast once every two weeks and the whole last week with a clearing solution you will get nice tasting fat juicy buds, just as good as soil in my opinion.
