Anybody buy a new Gavita lately?

I ordered 3 pro 1000w de e-series last week and they showed up today but after I opened up the boxes it had me wanting blood.
All 3 fixtures had the lamp installed and the actual bulb looks like it has been fired and ran for a bit, black ends on the internal hps electrode. I have 7 other gavitas that where bought around a year, they where packaged differently but the lamp wasn't installed and it was in its own box.
I went through the manual to see if maybe they tested their fixtures before export and couldn't find shit however I did find a little note stating that some lamps may appear to have black ends due to some manufacturing shit but after power has been applied it should go away, if not replace lamp.
Next step I contacted gavita via email and sent pics, so now I wait.
What really pisses me off is that the el2 controller wasn't shipped and i needed it yesterday, it was supposed to be in one of the gavita boxes and nothing. Now I have to wait till tomorrow to see what happened. Not mentioning names because this could be normal and they just forgot about the controller.

Anybody open up a gavita box lately and find the same shit?

I do not remember seeing black like that but I just bought two new gavitas in September last year and both came fully assembled, bulb installed.

Where did you buy them and do you own a digital light meter???.... A par or even a footcandle one will settle it real quick. Especially if you have some extra bulbs on hand. My digital light meter is an invaluable tool i keep in my lab coat pockets...at all times. Along with scissors...a portable microscope and a Bluelab Combo Meter. Coat and clipboard/pen is hanging on a nail outside my grow room door.

Just heard back from gavita and they confirmed that the lamps are packaged like that, blackened electrode and all. He even sent me a link to a video showing the whole process on how they test and package the fixtures.
I feel much better now, actually remember that when I bought my other gavita's I bought other lamps cuz at that time the older gavita lamps weren't that good.

Now on to the issue with the el2 controller, hoping they forgot!

Wish I would of known that last night lol, couldn't sleep cuz I was raging in bed all night plotting my revenge.
Got the controller issue straightened out too, they forgot to ship it.
When my mind jumps to conclusions why is it always negative? Lol
