Mission:

Helping my friend set up a 1K show. Already have everything we need except a cover/lid for this tank.

Plan is to run recirculation DWC (chilled nutes ) in that tank but haven't selected the cover/lid yet.

I need a 63" x 69" sheet of something that will not rust, rot or cause problems-----plan on cutting two rectangles 5" wide x 48" long and use vinyl panels like I did with tubes.

I've used these kinds of tanks for years and never had any problems.

isn't that a livestock watering tank? how about just cutting some plywood slightly oversized and spraying some water resistant stuff on the side facing the water?

or wrap the plywood in poly film? i agree tho, sheet of plywood sounds easiest.

Yes, those are livestock watering tanks----very durable. The one in the pic is 100 gallon purchased at Tractor Supply filled with 70 gallons (float valves and stuff).

I've thought about the plywood coated with something like flex seal or other sealers for boat leaks.

Perhaps the best option-----thanks for the feedback.

haha. i was just at tractor supply yesterday. guess my short term memory ain't so bad, huh?

i was thinking Thompson weather seal. a quart would be plenty I would think.

1/2" pvc frame wrapped in poly if you don't care about it being strong enough to put stuff on top of.

Not an option because I need adequate rigidity for plant and trellis support------something like a extra large tote with the lid I'm trying to decide on material.

Yes, but---- its not "dangling" from dental floss. Secured by dog chain looped through the ballast handle, large I-hook in wall stud, chain links joined with a closed C-ring. That's enough for my comfort zone.
