Any suggestions for covering up carpet?

My grow rooms is carpeted, and I'm looking to cover it up without removing the carpet. I was thinking of just covering the floor in plywood then stapling silver tarp to the plywood. Any have any other suggestions for something that might be easy, and cheap?

Thanks!

Another name for black and white plastic -- personally, I hate the shit.
Really? I love panda, I made three successful grow areas out of panda...I just adore the stuff...lol

I used it to protect the carpet, don't want spills getting into the base boards and causing mold

Do not staple the tarps to the wood... You don't want any holes in the tarp and staples kinda make lots and lots of holes. Tape is you're friend (or spray adhesive).

Considered a tent?

yeh just get a tarp big enough to cover the floor in 1 piece! then lay it a cross the carpet makeing sure to pull it tight so theres no slack to trip over and crush a plant lol, leave enough over lap so you can staple/tape it to the skirting boards then mylar the walls making sure to over lap the tarp then tape again. or you could buy a really cheap lino and cover with that. like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/green-tile-effect-lino-kitchen-bathroom-/140597192606?pt=UK_Flooring&var=&hash=item6673927ba1
if your from USA not sure if yous call it the same but its used it kitchens and bathrooms and is water proof rubber flooring.

just roll it up-

pun intended. the carpet is hooked to a thin wooden strip with a bunch of small angled spikes that grab the carpet whhen it's stretched. go to the corner of the room, take a fork and peel up the corner, then just peel it off the tack strip(spiky wood strip).

roll up carpet and store in garage. under the carpet will be the pad. it's just stapled down with a staple gun. pull the pad (either rip it up if it's junk, or if in good shape, just cut next to staples along perimeter, and along seems, and roll up. pad is cheap, annd easy to re-install. any carpet guy will stretch your piece of rug back in for you when you're done. or for 20 bucks buy a cheap kicker at harbor freight and put in back onto the strip your self, just bump it with the kicker enough to hook the carpet onto the spikes when reinstalling.

videos on this should be plentiful. super easy.

Im redoing a whole house now. It has nice carpet throughout and we really do NOT want to pull that shit up.

Was looking at Home Depot and they have some 7 mil plastic rolls which seem just like Panda but not black on one side. Is there any advantage to going with Panda over this stuff?
