Any Substitutes for Rockwool ?

Is their any house hold products i could use to start my seeds in besides the rockwool cubes ?

or does it have to be the cubes or the other fiberglass style products ?

Seen carwash sponges used like rock wool in a issue of hightimes once.

Paper towel an party cups are my favorite for seedlings.
I supose you could use anything soilless in them lava rock perilite, sand ect.?

idk about house products but coco fiber is cheap as fuck and works well

Cheap is what i want but i dont want to order the stuff online right now

im looking for something cheap like something wal-mart might have

Do you think i could cut off and use the yellow part of this sponge ? think the roots would grow through it ?

perlight is cheap and at wallmart 9 bucks or so for 8qaurt bag and most nurery carie coco fiber

So the perlite wont fall threw my net pot ?

can i put my seeds directly into the perlite ?

Dude you would be making a mistake with the perlite in the air pots, before you know it there will be white floaty fucks in the entire system and boy is it fucking annoying!!!

And household sponges......I'd check if they were inert or PH neutral before using them but hey, fortune favours the brave!!

seeds in moist paper towel inside zip lock under your mattress til sprouted...check every 12 hours. sprouts can go directly into perlite. if perlite falls out of net pot, wrap outside of net pot with paper towel/shirt/bandana etc til roots hold it in. i've seen seed starters at walmart too... they come in a plastic wrapped tray that holds like 30 little starter disks. put seeds/sprouts in starter disks and let them develop roots thru disk then transplant to perlite

thats how i germ my seeds , well i don't put them under my mattress i put them in my drawer ,

im going to wal mart in a little bit , so ill check and see if they have those seed starters

ok i picked up some perlight

also can you use those rocks for fish tanks instead of the clay pebbles ?

and do you think the roots would grow threw that sponge i posted a pic of ?
