No. You won't kill them but you will shock them if you do. If that happens while in flower they will show both sex and turn into a hermaphrodite.

It doesn't always happen but it happened to me last year and I got fucked. One female showed male sacks and it ended up pollinating all my plants. Still had good bud but had seeds.
