Any reason NOT to LST?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a noob grower. But I see these great plants, from these great growers here on the board...and many of them look like tall christmas trees. Great buds, but why wouldnt you want to LST any plant you grow, and increase your yeild? It just seems to me that ifyou grow a plant that gives great buds, and you didnt LST it, your just screwing yourself out of a bigger yeild. Any reason why someone may choose not to LST? or are they just stupid? (kinda like those fools who preach south slopes are ideal....when north slopes are just as good, depending on location).

i'm just getting started on my 1st lst - from what i read, 'low stress' is a relative term
it does give a fair amount of stress that can make hermies

sometimes its better to direct the plants energy to making large fat colas vs lot of smaller popcorn buds that you can get from LST. I LST'd my first grow and wound up with alot of little under developed buds on all of the lower branches. LST is great just make sure you have enough adequate light to reach those lower buds, otherwise youre just going to waste your plants energy for a bunch of future shake and regret haha.

It all depends on your grow area. I grow in a cab so vertical space is at a premium and I'm only using a 250w HPS. For me, short and bushy is the key so I do a lot of topping and lst on them. If you take a look at the flower grow in my sig you'll see what I mean as each of my plants has multiple main colas, and that's after lollipopping them. If I had more vertical space and a more powerful bulb, I probably wouldn't worry about it as much. I'm personally not convinced that there's that much of a difference in total yield. It seems like you either get more smaller colas or fewer bigger colas
