Any plumbers out there?

I recently got sacked from my boring job at a super market.

I've been checking out different trades to get involved in.

I don't want to risk getting electrocuted, so electrician is out.

So logically my next thoughts went onto plumbing.

I would like some kind of encouragement/advice from the plumbers out there.

I know a lot of work will be involved on my part, learning the trade and such, but i'm willing to do this, anyone got any tips, advice, warnings?

Plumbing would be a great career .. Both my grandfather and father were plumbers .. They made some serious dough doing it .... That's all I really know about it though.. But knowing you'll make a lot of money can't be a bad thing. ;)

I know a plumber, he's well off...... But he's running the company so thats a bit diffrent......

Yeah .. But it's really not that hard to start your own business once you have experience under your belt. If Arrid learns it all, he can eventually start his own business, and live very comfortably for the rest of his working life. The future is always to be considered when choosing a career..

Hell yea .. Who doesn't wanna sit their ass down on a nice toilet? there was a brand new toilet in my garage... I cleaned the garage and picked it up and dropped it.. I broke the new toilet. :cry:

I'm pretty sure a room in a house, with windows and doors is not going to fill with water and kill me, are you trying to say i'm stupid enough not to get the fuck out of there?

As for claiming incapacity benefits, or benefits in general : I'm not scum, so I WILL NOT cheat the system.

After listening to the presidential debates on Wednesday when McCain was talking about how "Joe the Plumber" is gonna get screwed on his taxes, I really don't think this would be a really good trade for anyone to get into. That's my 2 cents....:mrgreen:

Hey man, Im a painter. Ever think about that trade? We're the ones that go in after all the sloppy other trades and make everything look good again!! I know some plumbers though that are in the trade, and they are pretty good off. I see them getting into some nasty shit though....literally!!

That comes with the territory though, right? ;)

I mean it'll take about 3-4 years to get the qualifications. about 6-10 years I could have my own buisness. LOL.

Ok. That's being optimistic... :D

i think once you become a plumber, you should start looking into studying Architectur for the bathroom.... that means u can plan & build.. here its a 3 year appent. then a 2 year addon to become an architect for the bathroom ....

then u would be able to open something up maybe.. a friend of mine is doing it like that... We will see what happens..
