Morning RIU, :D

Are there any musicians amongst us? What instrument(s) do you play and how long have you played for? What's your favourite genre of music to play to? Who's your biggest inspiration

I've played bass guitar for around 12 years, huge Ibanez fan but would one day love to own a Dingwall. Here are my girls! I have mainly played in heavy metal / progressive metal bands over the years but strictly speaking I'm into pretty much anything now :grin: Victor Wooten, Dave Ellefson (Megadeth) and Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) are probably the main 3 players that got me inspired to start playing bass.

Purchased my first handpan in July too after many years of longing for one. Such beautiful instruments that not so long ago we're extremely expensive and hard to purchase due to lack of makers.

YO glad to see another bassist on the forums!
I only own one bass its a Squire Jaguar Bass one of the deluxe versions, it has a pretty good tone.
I've played for about 5 years but I've been on and off with practicing seriously. I keep saying this but I've recently started to get back into it.
I play in band with my 2 brothers and dad.
I don't really have a favorite but my top 3 genres would be Jazz, Rock, Reggae.
Some people who really stared to make me get inspired were Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, and Davie504 lol and a couple others. I was a big slap fan at first but the fingerstyle is where its at.

All legendary bassists, Davie504 is a great laugh too haha.

I'm fingerstyle too, never got on with a pic, probably why I chose the bass to be honest.
