I have an Indica dominant schwag, growing in soil, indoor, using CFL's and one small (70 watt) HPS security light. Yea I know, but it was cheap and a nice complement to the CFL's. Eleven Cfl's with different wattages/spectrums, I know which lights to use, and when. This is my third indoor grow, the good seeds I'm saving till spring, while I experiment one more time. Plant is about 18-24 inches tall, vegged for about 4-6 weeks, 24-0, switched to 13-11 yesterday. I went with 13 because cold may be a factor. Basement closet may get chilly with lights out. Plant is beautiful, fan leaves have eleven count and are wide, stout, and enormous, inner nodes are growing up and out through the fan leaves. But the stems on the fan leaves are purple. No other part of the plant is purple, just the stems from the main stalk to the fan leaves. My last grow I had a sativa the topped out at around 5 feet and the stem on this one is nearly the same size. The sucker leaves are still on this, turning yellow, but still there. Why are the fan leaf stems purple and no other part of the plant is purple? Is this a strain? I'm sure it's genetics are from a local hydro grower. Sorry I don't have pics

well you mention low temps and that can cause purple to happen?

withou good pics hard to say though?

Cold has not been a factor yet, mid sixties have been the bottom temp. high in the low to mid seventies.
Inner node stems and stalk are perfect, it's only the fan leaves that the stems are purple from the stalk/main stem to the fan leaves...

i wouldnt worry about that, this happens to my plants all the time and ive already given up on caring why it happens because it never affects my plant. im pretty sure its normal, dont worry
