Is it any good to start your plants right beside a massive fire ant hill? They wouldnt eat the plant....just anything that crawls that way...The ant hil is likw 10 inches high and 2 foot across. Seems like they would kill any bugs that got near their home. Any other ideas on this?

AAhhh I would worry about being bitten! Ouch! Ants are not a direct plant pest but can be indirect pest to your garden some will support aphid colonies or other nectar producing plant destroying bugs. I'm not sure about fire ants though. I guess a benefit is anybody who did not belong near your plant would be bitten!

Well you can buy carbohydrate synths from botanicare and advanced nutes. Its basicly sugar water thats made for plant consumption. It will give your buds a more robust complex taste. And has been known to increase yeild. But it will defiantly attract the ants!

Oh...Wel thats cool..where i live I dont think we have too many advanced nute stores, The seedlings are already beside the ants, today i ckd them and had to kill two nearby bushes for lack of light. Andi got attackd by the ants. I think il leavethem alone and not use the carbo synths u are talkin bout. Mayb they will attack all the damn rabbits round here. Or mayb i need to go hunting rabbit at night. lol Thanks southern oregon and new growth for you responses

well i looked up as much information on ants as i possibly could, and i found that fire ants are practically harmless to plants. its the black ants that use the nectar from aphids that cause a potential threat. the aphids will cause damage to your plants, not the ants. i wouldnt worry about the fire ants, but just to be safe do some online research (google) to see.
