Another 200W LED COB Build....

Approx $750 or so for everything. I know I can get these figures down now that I've got enough wire/hardware/framing left over from the original build and I also get free shiiping on some items too which greatly reduces cost as well.
I ordered my Drivers from Jameco and they offer free shipping after your initial order. My next order for 2 will save me $25 alone on shipping (if purchased seperately). I also have stuff factored in that was initially purchased that I didn't use like Kapton Tape etc that would have brought my costs down.
Thanks dude I've always been a mh/hps grower but summer temps are a bitch here & like you I need the heat of the big lights for winter. I'll be eager to see how well these LEDs work with your grow to see if I'm willing to give these a try.

Well after a short absence in this thread & using the 400W build in my grow room the last 6 weeks or so I'll gladly be building another 400W setup. This time with an adjustable frame I've been planning for a while. I can do what I was wanting to do with the frame on my first build this time though so I'll be able to show what Im doing and still use my first build while doing it.
I'll be putting in another order for more CXB's and BJB holders from @Greengenes707 at PLC.
Hes got new pin sinks available on his site which are cool as hell, but one project at a time.

Both of those drivers could be ran off 1 plug, nice build
Thanks, its been a great light so far. I had considered doing one plug to a box, but if I decided to split the bars up at a later time, I'd have to wire them seperately again.

You could just leave each bar with a plug and run both plugs into a junction box with outlets on it. You could also have a switch for each bar so they can be turned on/off independently with ease.

Ya, thats pretty much what I got going now. No junction box though, just an outlet adapter to plug 2 plugs into one outlet.

I'm deciding between the bar Heatsink like yours or the Cutter pre drilled 140mm individual heatsinks. Do you have any Stretch in your plants Hydro using just the 3590's?

Hello Hydrored! Nicely done. Ive made two of those. Would you know how to make them entirely waterproof, or is that downright impossible and stupid with an external fan? Ive got an interior garden thats just been roofed. Its not 100% waterproof though, as there are some open, vertical spaces to allow for airflow and ventilation at the roof. So, basically Id like to use them in my small, interior garden, but Id like to make sure, that I dont get some unwanted water on them and cut the power, start or fire, or who knows what! :)

I use the CXB3070's and stretch hasnt been an issue any more than with HID lighting in my opinion. With the HS choice, keep in mind that one is a passive cooled and one is an active cooled. Just an FYI -the bars like mine require fans to keep them running cooler (though if needed I could run without fans if for some reason it were to quit since they are a tad oversized and my lights are dimmable) and the pin sinks require a normalized room environment and air circulation to be effectively cooled.

Thanks, I love them and they have worked very well for me.
I think it would be an easier task to water proof your room than it would be to try to engineer a light that is 100% water proof and still able to be cooled properly. These lights that I have built are water resisitant, but I dont have them in a "wet" area. It just means if I get some overspray from my water bottle on the lights or ballast while I'm misting the plants, it wont short out or ruin the lights. Water proof or water resistant, either way electricity and water dont mix. Be safe and cautious of what you do to grow some plants. Not worth a fire or someone getting electrocuted. Thats no place to cut any corners.
