An interesting idea for soil/coco type mediums

I am always looking at learning new things growing plants and constantly trying to use new techniques and improve on ones i currently use.
I have done everything from dwc rdwc soil coco rockwool stg cubes nft etc,... and thought of something interesting But I'm not sure if any of you have tried or thought about yourselves or if its just a bad idea haha.

but wanted to share it and see if it helps any of you out it would be interesting to hear about the results especially if it helps you out with yield, growth vigor, and overall happy healthy plants with a new Technique while using soil/coco medium.

The idea comes from a common method used by dwc growers and hydroponic Gardeners like myself who introduce air stones into the water solution/nutrient mixture to keep mixture well aerated for the roots which in turn gives explosive root growth When the correct nutrients are added to the solution in a perfect environment for them and availiblity to nutrients is very Abundant and promotes good healthy microbial and beneficial bacteria activity in the root zone etc.

Well I Thought what if I was to put an air stone in the middle and toward bottom of my soil where the roots will grow toward Inside of a large smart pot,I imagine the plants would dry out very quickly But you could use a wicking techniques for that or a drip set up timed on how much she Needs as growth continues
Wouldn't this create a lot of beneficial bacteria that are staying alive and breeding in your medium?

keeping your roots healthier and growing faster with growth speeds Close to Hydroponics?...
I would say as long as the pH is good and the nutrient concentration/runoff isn't too hot you would have happy healthy plants With roots that will never get rotten because of the abundance of oxygen always in the soil.
Anyway thought I would mention it if some of you if you would like to try it out let me know if it works good for you😄 I certainly want to try it on a couple myself and see what turns out from it always trying to improve and I really hope it helps all of you out or if its a dumb idea let me know too lol peace

I should add that I have done this in a system I built out of two buckets. But a little differently I used a 3.5 gallon bucket on top with the bottom drilled out Placed a 10 inch not pot in the bottom then put inside a 5 gallon water bucket filled net pot with Hydroton and coco coir chunks from sun leaves and coco basket to keep medium from going in the water in the 5 gal bucket which had air stones and nutrient mixture I'm the bottom the idea was soil flavor hydro speed and results were very good with a tomato plant haven't done with mj before but would be a fun experiment

I use Tupur, which is a coco based medium, it also has perlite, some peat, oyster shells, etc. I am a big fan. Although I can't see how putting a pump in your pot would hurt, I don't think it would achieve much other then ruining a perfectly good pump. The cool thing about coco is that you pretty much can't over water it assuming you have good drainage. It really doesn't hold water all that well but in a good way, so your roots should never be short on O2.

By no means should you let me discourage you from giving it a shot if it's worked you and tomatoes, I think you should give it a try. Perhaps do a controlled test where you have two identical plants, one with a pump and a control with no pump to get some hard data. I would be very curious to see your results.

A friend of mine mixes clay stones in with his Tupur to further increase O2 levels in the soil.

Good luck.

If you poke around you can find threads that talk about using an airstone in hempy buckets. The general consensus is there is no added benefit.
