An info on philips lumileds luxeon cobs ?

They seem quite easy to source and at fairly good prices for a trusted brand like philips.
But there may be a reason you all seem to prefer Cree. I'm struggling to make much
sense of what might be useable in a grow room, or even what are there most powerful cobs.

I was thinking something like
LHC1-3080-1208
How many might i need for a 1m by 1m, have they got better available cobs in this range ?
but just looking really.

Flicked through the datasheet, these bits stick out
a) 90lm/W
b) 92cri

the spectral graph looked like a big peak 410 and 460.

Not sure about the working range, cree also outline some rigorous test procedures, -40c -- +80c . Its not really worth worrying about as your environment shouldn't deviate much from 20c by more than 5c in either direction :P

1208 has similar output to the Vero 18 at their respective test currents. On paper the Vero's are a little brighter (efficacy), and they're a little cheaper in the quick search I just did. The Luxeon seems to have more blue and green @ 3000K and the red is peaking at 600nm.

In a reflective enclosure I have no issue w running cobs without reflectors so be sure that's something you want to do before designing around it. The Cree cobs can be mounted with holders from Ideal that can secure reflectors, so that's worth considering.

Ideal holders will not mount any reflector themselves. You need to also get the ideal adapter to use reflectors. Which requires 2 more holes to be drilled and tapped. So 4 total holes drilled and tapped if you want to use ideal products and reflectors.
