An extra little toke?

Well I've only been smoking for a little over two years now, and recently I've adapted to doing something that I've seen a long time friend of mine, a 30 year veteran of smoking (talking back in the 60's man ) does when she smokes.

She smokes out of her favorite pipe, and after she takes a toke, she also puts her mouth over the bowl and sucks up the extra rising smoke from the burning bud... So I've started doing this, and was curious to know if this is a normal practice? cheers

its why glass pipes have carbs. hold your finger over the carb, take the hit, take your finger off the carb and suck in the remaining smoke. bong works the same way pretty much too.

I put my palm over the bowl if its still cherryd.


I wouldnt do it. Whatever smoke that your getting isnt going to be a factor of whether you get a headchange or get stoned. But everyone has their own style.

i put the lighter over the bowl(done it for 10+yrs and never had one even get singed so its safe enough for me) or a playing card piece cut so its a lil bigger than the bowl.

i misunderstood what he meant at first i think.....he's saying he lets the cherry go and just inhales the smoke still coming from it instead of capping the bowl then sucking out the last bit of smoke when you uncover the bowl after snuffing the cherry?

Sometimes ill suck in those wasps of smoke out of the air, but usually i put my thumb over the bowl and put it out before it starts smoking.

na na.. What I'm doing is.. lighting the bowl, (got my finger on the carb).. sucking in, release carb, inhale smoke, and afterwards inhale smoke from the cherry that's still burning after i take the hit.
