Paradise Seeds

Aussie mate :bigjoint:

Did you see the first page of this thread? Time-line seedling growth. You can see what my plants do in the first two weeks. I don't think they are that slow. On this page you'll see the El Dorado OG I sprouted and grew out for two weeks before they went straight into 12/12.

I know there's alot of genetic bottle-necking going on out there with all these cookies strains, but there are still some older genetics and good strains out there.
No,didn't really check them out, just looked at "seed strain"thread and saw a Paradise comment so,I figured I'd mention that I gave "Sensi Star" a shot during a outdoor grow, hear you on bottlenecking, once my country got in the game you know us Americans "it's all big" and crosses started coming out like a machine gun, got 5-6 weed stores within 3 miles of my house, Merry Xmas.

Here is something interesting. A bed full of living soil under a bank of High Light 420 Gen2 LEDs at 2.5 weeks of flower. There should be about 900-1000W of light in there.

The plants are all related. There are three Citral x White Widow test seeds that were given by me to the grower. These are the same Paradise Seeds test seeds (which are really clones) that I am growing. There is also a Sweetpoia clone in there that is related because Sweetopia is Citral x Thin MInt Cookies.

From left we have Citral Widow 2, which is the stretchiest, then Citral Widow 1, Citral Widow 3 and Sweetopia on the far right. Note all the Buddies side-lighting!
Image-1 (2).jpg

CW2 on the far left is looking similar to the Sweetopia. Stretchier, thinner leaves and smaller buds. It also has that strong pine-menthol smell normally associated with Cookies type strains. Although it is stretching and branching like the Sweetopia on the far right, the Sweetopia only produces small buds and finishes in about 7 weeks with very poor yields. We grow it for the quality.
Image-1 (3).jpg

This is CW1. I don't have this clone as I lost my version but luckily my friend kept it. He is looking after the future clones and we will both choose our favourites from these. CW1 is very similar (almost identical) to CW3 which I am also growing. Short with tighter internodes and more developed buds, but no resin yet.
Image-1 (4).jpg

This is CW3. This is the one I have and it is also short with tight internodes and developed buds. The first to show resin and has a sweet, citrus/berry smell with a bit of fuel added. It's looking really nice at this stage, as is mine.
Image-1 (6).jpg

A close-up of CW3. You will see the odd thrip bie on the leaves because the grower has a totally organic system with predator mites and other natural predators to take care of the pests. No chemicals used in this grow.
Image-1 (7).jpg

And here is CW2 left and CW3 right showing they are almost peas in a pod.

And here is the Sweetopia for comparison. It likes to branch out and stretch a little in the first weeks of flower, but it produces only small, tight buds that do not yield very well. However, it has such a lovely sweet and spicy taste like cinamon and honey that reminds me of baklava, and quite a strong high that is a little on the heavy side but nice to relax with. I usually smoke this at the end of the day.

The plants are looking good.
You couldn't miss the buddies! Nice set up.
No need to waste energy, just turn them on as the plants get taller.
I use a bit of side lighting myself but I've to keep the lights at least 8" away as I use strips, QB's etc.
CW3 would be the plant for me.

And here is my tent just finishing 4 weeks of flower. Running about 640W of light in there at the moment.

Citral Widow 3 is front left. Citral Widow 2 is front right. Sweetopia is right in the middle. Super Skunk x (Sensi Star x Sweet Tooth#3) is back left. Atomical Haze is back right.

6 x White Berry clones in the 4 x 4
HLG 550R ~ 300 watts? My meters are loaned out so I'm kinda flying blind at the moment.
I let them grow up to the light. ~ 6" away, didn't harm them.
I've just raised the light to 12" from the canopy now.

Whiteberry is on my list – how does it smoke mate?

Your White Berry looks similar to the Citral White Widow test seeds I'm growing out.

It smoked very well. A nice daytime toke, quite uplifting, no couchlock at all.
Definitely worth another run especially now I've idea how it grows.
I'd too many branches on them last time with a lot of crap down the bottom so I'm keeping them well clean this round.

Love it! It is actually one of my all-time favourite strains. But I can see how it might not be for everyone.

Firstly, my preferred pheno is very sativa and takes anywhere from 11-12 weeks to finish flowering, so it does require lot of patience. However, it rewards that patience with HUGE yields.

Secondly, you will probably only find one sativa pheno in every pack of 5 seeds, as I have found. So if that's what you're looking for, you really need to grow out a 10 pack of femmed seeds and do a pheno hunt. Although you may get lucky with 5 seeds.

There's nothing wrong with the other more indica phenos, but they don't have the same clear-headed, long-lasting and active high that I like. It is so clean that you don't even know how high you are sometimes until you stop to think about it. It is a very functional and optimistic high with no paranoia and no couchlock at all. But it's also not speedy and won't make you tense or anxious.

One plant in particular, this one (below), had what I call a "rocket-ship high" that used to creep up a little and then launch you into space with a heart-pounding surge. This subsided after a while into a trippy head high that lasted four hours or more. It also had a very peppery and sour taste – a real haze taste – that was not as sweet as the others.

Oldhaze.jpg

The current clone I have now, which is not the one above but is the same phenotype, is a little bit sweeter but still has the same sour-pepper undertones. The high is more of a creeper and probably a little cleaner in the head, but not quite as trippy as the plant above.

I've probably grown out 20 Atomical Haze plants over the years and these two plants were the standouts. My current clone is this one:

At the end of Week 5 the Sweetopia is almost ready and will be taken at Week 6. It doesn't yield much, but at least it finishes early, so it makes a good stop-gap for the other plants while they continue to grow.

IMG_1053.jpg

So check out the difference between the Sweetopia and Atomical Haze after the same flowering time. The Atomical Haze will go at least 11 weeks, so is not even half done yet.

Half breeds.but I'll post them here as Paradise Seeds Sensi Star original was the mother.
I've 6 x Paradise Seeds Sensi Star original crossed with a Dutch Passion White Widow male.
Getting chopped this week.
14 weeks of 12 hrs on, 12 hrs off.
Here's one i pulled out to remove the leaves.
It's freezing here, - 0.1°C so I'm well thermalled up, chopping away.

I've them all defoliated and have 3 left to chop down now.
No mad rush, probably finish them on Friday.
Ì hang the buds on the stems to dry.
I've a small radiator in the hut, setting temperature to ~ 20°C for now. There's also a dehumidifier in there with RH set at 60%

Here's another one.

Ive 6 x Malstar seed plants vegging in the attic. Sensi Star original fem x Malawi male.
I'm hoping for a Sensi Star original x Ace Seeds Malawi male - 'Malstar' to do a back cross with the Sensi Star original.
