In what circumstance would police need to weigh the cannabis in my house? I feel like that just won't happen... I know it could, yes, and it's good to follow the law. But, excuse me Officer, gtfo of my house I'm a legal medical patient. Or, go away Officer and let me smoke my joint indoors in peace, I'm a legal medical patient. I dunno... I tread lightly; ain't nobody got time for jail.

IF for some reason thy do come with a warrant they will weight for sure..NO WARRANT NO ENTRY

If for some reason they inside your house an smell or see weed. Theyre going to look more even if you show card and say to leave. If you have couple oz or something they prob wont waste time to weigh it but if they want to they will search away.

If they smell or see a small amount of weed and you show them a card then they have no probable cause to believe a crime is being committed so a search is not warranted. You do not need to consent to a search and everyone in your house should know, and be able to tell the police that "I do not consent to a search." if indeed they search without a warrant based on a smell where a valid card is shown then the charges will be dismissed. If they see in plain sight an amount that appears to be larger than your limit then that changes things and a search could be justified. This is the advice my lawyer gave me when dealing with the police.

I had the cops show up at my house over a dispute between my neighbor calling for something related to my kids and a air gun and they smelled it and smiled at me and just commented that there must be a skunk in the neighborhood unless I'm growing marijuana in the back yard. I told them, "nope not in the back yard" and then showed them my card. They asked if they could look around and I told them no sorry I'm busy at the moment and one of them smiled and they said have a good night and then left my property.

Now perhaps I should have played completely dumb to avoid future scrutiny but then I'm not outside the act's guidelines or the law so I'm not concerned but it just goes to show that you have rights and the cops will try to circumvent them with a simple "mind if we look around"? And that might lead to them finding something you've overlooked or simply got lazy over and give them probable cause to search other places on your property or within your home.
