Amber trichs not prevalent on sativas?

I was having a conversation on another forum about my outdoor sativa and if it was ready. Most of the hairs are brown and receding and the calyxs are pretty visible. I got a 30x loupe, all the trichs are cloudy but not a sign of amber.

Several people told me that indicas are where you see a lot of amber show up...that with sativas, the trichs sometimes don't even go amber, they just burst when the THC begins to decline. Is this true, or do they go amber (and is that what I should wait for?)

I understand that I will not get an indica high from a sativa, amber or not. Thing is, it's week 11 of flowering, and because of the sun getting lower in the horizon, the plant only gets 4 or so hours of direct sunlight tops. And it's getting quite chilly, with lots of overcast skies. Some rain but not a lot yet.

Grow shop guy said you don't want amber in a sativa because at that point because it means you've passed the sweet spot and THC is degrading

some sativas never seem to go amber cuzz they take long has fuck to do so, so most growers crop early indoors cuzz they dont wanna wait, or they are harvested too early outside cuzz the growers gorw season isnt long enough to fully ripen the sativa

Long as fuck? Cool! In that case they'll be done in 2 minutes! **rimshot**

Yeah it's a quandary, I guess I'll take things on a day-by-day basis

might get fed up that way... how bout a week by week basis? next time grow indicas.... kushes in particuler.. there potant has fuck, and bloom in half the time

Next time I do plan on indicas. We just got medical recommendations this summer, and a friend gave us a potted sativa, so we went with that. For our medical reasons, an indica buzz with the relaxation effect is what we need.

fuck! I'm starting to hate kush, just cuz everybody around here thinks that anything with a good indica buzz is kush.

True Kush is an indica strain originating in the Hindu Kush - a mountainous area of India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Only a couple landrace strains are marketed, most are hybrids, like blueberry kush. Like all cannabis, genetics and environment play a large role in potency, so the kush strains are variable.
Here's a list with links to breeder descriptions:

So kush IS indica, and originates from Afghanistan, India, Iran etc?

edit: thanks seraphis, I was posting this as you posted the above
