Am I organic?

Hi guys! On my second auto grow now and just wandered if my set up is classed as "organic?" I use biobizz light mix soil with added perlite and biobizz grow, bloom & topmax. Nothing else is added & I saw somewhere biobizz nutes are organic. I never intended to go organic, not even sure if it is. Just wondered if anyone knows. Thanks.

Organic based nutrients are not equal to living amended soil.

yes this is correct ^^^^

also you must remember, for a bottle to be called "organic" it only has to be 50% organic. that leaves room for some "fillers" I like to call them. I'm not saying BioBizz products have fillers, just want to point that out.

anything you make yourself (especially the soil mix), assuming it's made correctly, is going to be better than most things you can buy, with very few exceptions but there are some.

looking at the BioBizz website, they seem like decent products on paper, but I sometimes cringe when i see companies going big like biobizz and question their legitimacy lol. Seen it too many times before, Naked (owned by pepsi) putting formaldehyde in their bottled juices, is just one example. A product i used to use in my garden called Age Old Organics is definitely not organic, nor do they make any claim to how organic they really are.

Alotta crap that comes in s bottle says it is organic because it is derived from organic compounds. Even if it is truly organic it can fuck up a living soil mix quickly. Anything that has an NPK value higher than 5 is not for use in living soil. I once listened to a hydro store moron suggest I use Hi PK by Roots Organics...says it's organic right in the title right? It killed all myco fungi & threw off the ph for a week just at the end of bloom which seriously diminished yield. Clean water fixed the problem after a couple weeks but the damage was done at that point. Just cuz it says it's organic doesn't mean it's good for a living soil grow but there is such a thing as soup style organic growing.

I was under the impression that the macros have NO place when ruling out what "should" be used in a mix.

Look at comfrey, a healthy grown variety has an Npk of 8-2.6-20.5

While that's grand, that's not why I use it.
Yeah I'm talking about stuff you can buy with a label on it- I'm sure there are organic inputs ..like comfrey that have hi NPK values that are safe to use in a living soil web. I'm saying that there's a ton of stuff at grow stores that claim to be "organic" but will wreak havoc on sensitive micro life. Look for an OMRI label.

yeah, I'm not sure about these as I don't go into the "organic" section of the local hydro heaven.I do know that the labeling legitimacy is based on the big bucks just like everything else.

You should be looking at food grade product (feed store) specifically as you won't be dealing with low grade stuff.

I.e.
"GrowMore" (Chinese bullshit) alfalfa is sold nation wide at hydro chains through one of the big suppliers. When I used this product I used 1 cup/5gallons water and yes, got result ,but minimal.

The food grade alfalfa i use now is ten fold better. I only use 2 Tbs/5 gallons and my plants still get a little burnt.

Another,
Dyna Gro neem seed meal/oil.

Last time I looked these products were listed as organic by omri...They may be extracted from organic material but how they were processed is a different story..

Again, my Ahimsa neem meal is ten times better quality than my dyna Gro neem meal because of how its treated.

Quality product in, quality out.

Uhmm, Idk what these jokers are talking about... Yes, Biobizz line is fully organic, as is their all-mix and light-mix soil/media. Perlite is organic as well, even if it isn't exactly "green"

If that's all you're adding then you can safely claim that your grow is organic.
