you must have some stinky plants if you need to have your fan on at all times. I might just have it go 50/10 but i really do want it to have a break every hour so i can save my fan for a while. If it breaks while my plants flowering and stinky as hell i would be F'ed.
The plants don't start to stink really bad until about week 4 flower. You might not need the cabon filter until then. All my plants in flower at different ages because I grow perpetual with the separate veg area like I was talking about. So I always have a few plants at their stinkiest point in flower. But I don't think you have to worry about "saving" your fan. Those things are designed to run continuously for years. By the time it breaks you will have earned so much money growing you can buy 50 new ones to replace it.
I had considered trying a perpetual grow in the beginning but was worried about expenses and whether i was up to the task or not. Now with my new idea i think a clone/veg box is definitely within my reach. I'll be sure to fill in my fellow marijuana growers when i begin construction on it but it should be pretty inovative.
I have a feeling once you finish you're first grow you won't want that to be the end of it. Setting up the grow for the first time is the hard part. Keeping it going perpetually after that is much easier. You'll realize any expenses incurred have been repaid many times over. Plus I guarantee after growing one strain you will want to try as many more as you can. That's how I felt and still feel. I've done 14 strains so far.
