Am I doing it right?

Hey all, tried LST for the first time. Need advice!

It's just been one day since I tried LST and this is the results.

Is it supposed to be like that?
How long do I leave it for until I change its position?

Any advice would be helpful! Thanks all!

Bravo. Looks great to me. And just adjust your tie downs as the plant gets bigger. About once a week you should be roughly adding or moving a couple.

I don't understand what your actually trying to do here. I thought tying down plants was to allow more light to penetrate lower branches. I really don't see any need to tie fan leaves down. Sorry if I'm the one being dumb here

Ya got the right idea...but notnecessary yet...I'd top it once then start pinning the branches down as they grow up...spreading them out n then go from there...be patient...but if ur against topping it n wanna go all lst them wait a bit to where when u bend it over itll expose lower nodes that'll shoot branches to the light over head

Top it at the right spot n you'll expose 4 potential main branches to top notch light, boom...in one slick move...snip....then spread those 4 out as they get bigger

Hey no worries. I'm trying to make it grow short as my grow space is very limited.

I'm trying to apply LST to help in reducing height as well as yield.

How would that benefit my plant more?
How do you tell if you've over bent?
Itll break...

Sorry I had to ...ha

For what your wanting to do top it...4 main branches will begin to shoot...pin em sideways with ur lil green hooks there maken em grow straight sideways to sides of pot...other branches will begin to shoot n pretty soon you'll have a lil short bush...trust me

i grew in a tiny space for a long time. Pot size helps keep things small.
Topping, bending, etc will help spread her out for u and keep the height down also.

Tie a support opposite to the direction bening on the main "trunk" or 4 supports all around. So when you bend it, it pulls less on the roots. Also bend more like mentioned.. I've gone too "low stress" on the training part before and the plant didn't respond enough, no additional auxillary branching becaue I wasn't bending enough to trigger a hormone response.
Looking good so far though.

Hey there,

I truly believe LST is the way to go if you're working with a confined space, but you've started very early.

I agree with the previous posts that topping or FIMing before LSTing will help achieve the yield I imagine you're aiming to get! When I was LSTing my 4 plants, about 4/5 weeks into veg, I was readjusting the LST tie wires every day, or every other day at most. And continually adjusting well into flower.

LST does require constant maintenance to get the most out of the practise.

Best of luck!
Cheers
