Am I doing it correctly (first time doing lst)

Yes. LST isn’t just for the main stem but can be used for any branch, by manipulating the branches to spread more horizontally you allow for a more even spread of light, and end up creating a more filling and even canopy of bud sites.
Also, remove your leaves that are in the under your soil.

Your plant looks really nice. It looks to have had a very good start. I'd would like to make one suggestion that maybe can make it a little easier. I saw this on a post a couple of years ago. Bend a pice of wire to form a sort of bridge and place it where you want the bend to take place, then use a rubber band to pull it over for the bend. Then do the bend over two or three days.

This is what I mean. It makes it real easy to bend them over. I would have had holes along the edge of the pot to tie to but this isn't my pot.

This is just something that can give a nice bend that's easy to do.

I hope you keep us updated. It's nice to watch plants from the start. looking at it a little closer it does look like you used a bridge. What's the strain?

I kind of used the «bridge method» I used a string to keep the lower stem in place, I saw someone else did that:) Thanks for your input! The strain is AK-47 Auto, she is nearly 3 weeks old from germination. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the progression :D

Can someone with experience please tell me if I am doing the lst correct? So basically if I keep pushing the main stem down, eventually all the other side shoots will catch up to the main stem right?
No secondary branch will ever catch up to the main cola. By keeping the main cola bent over, you're encouraging all the secondary branches to grow vertically. Doing this causes the plant to bush out, rather than take the natural x-mas tree structure.

You can also bend those secondary branches over so the tertiary branches grow vertically. And so on and so forth.

Put a net over the plant, and bend those branches under the net and you've got yourself a SCROG going on.

Thats a great idea about the tertiary branches. But I guess they may need to be a little bit taller than what they are now atm?

Update: 10 days later

everything seems to be going well. A little light stressed but think I have sorted it out now. Explosive growth in just 10 days after by first post of this grow. The lst seems to be somewhat acceptable. My only concern now is the height. This is a short strain in nature, but the plants height is just coming in at 25cm now. And she is well into full flowering. She just started her stretching period. Hoping she will reach 40-50cm in height. She’s been flowering for about a week now. No visible trichomes yet.. but it got a nice piney:diesel smell to it. I probably could have defoliate her a lot more, but since its well into flower I’m not sure its the smartes move. IMG_7140.png
