ALMOST busted!

detectives came to my door yesterday and asked if i was growing marijuana inside my house. they wanted to come in and take a look around, of course i told them that it was not a good time - my wife was sleeping on the sofa, the house was a mess, etc. they asked if they could come back later and i told them that they could stop by later in the evening if they really wanted to. when they came the first time i was inside germinating an additional 100+ seeds and i had 18 under lights. i had grow bags full of soil in a backpack ready to put into my car leaned up against my fence where i was speaking with the cops! i got rid of everything and had to kill my babies. sucks! they came back later and i let them inside. after looking around a bit they apologized and said that this would be the last i hear from them. sucks so bad to know my name is on the "list." time to move to cali!

is there any success to be had just planting popped seeds into amended soil outdoors? i lost all 18 that i was planning to put out this weekend. what would the chances of seedlings coming up and making it in the great outdoors???
 
fucking cops, they are so stupid, i mean they didn't though that there is a POSSIBILITY you get rid of all the plants before they come back. how stupid they are , good for you man it doesn't matter you'll get it on again.
 
the law in the u.s. from what i understand is that the cops can search your property by getting a warrant. without a warrant they would have to suspect something being in the house that cant possibly wait to be found and in that case they would have to find sumthin otherwise you could sue the shit out of them. if they asked permission that means they went to your house under suspicion only. when they knocked you had a legal right to not open your door or even have to answer at all. considering you know what your doing at your house it may have been wise to answer the door to get rid of their suspicion but instead you get rid of their suspicion then give them more of a reason to be suspicious by moving a bunch of shit out of your house after the cops show up then tell them to come by later? sorry im tryin to find the sense in this. the law is very strict on searching peoples private property.
 
good to know you knew how to handle them, sucks to have to kill your babies though....

feminized or strain? if your working with 100+ id say just collected bagseed, but still....
 
That was a knock and talk which is how I got busted last year. My wife answered the door and they smelled it giving them the right to detain us on the porch until the dog could get there. Once the dog gets there and reacts they can then call the judge and get a warrant. Moral of the story NEVER answer the door for cops because you dont have too. You need to think of who all you told because thats the only way they knew and take the money you lost out on there ass! Sorry about your loss bro.
 
estesj knows what hes talkin about. just by opening your door ANYTHING they saw or smelled through the doorway they can use against you. if you have soil bags in the trash or pots outside or ANYTHING they find to use against you they can use it to get a warrant to search your property. after all that your hot regardless of any proof they may or may not find.

Yep and they can check your trash for baggies or any other evidence of crime and get a warrant that way.
 
i cleaned up everything - nothing left but dirt out in my building (for our upcoming strawberry patch of course). i keep a small amount of bud inside, but it is in a safe container and even if they did find it my charge would be only a misdemeanor. i am going up to western nc this weekend to take care of business before i leave the states for a month. now being a person of interest is what concerns me. maybe its time to move to another state - california sounds nice. once your name is on the list in a small southern town your screwed. i tell ya what guys - the DEA has turned our police force into criminals. my friend is looking at 7-12 right now for selling a couple of script pills (third offence). what ever happened to fighting real crimes??

when you consider that the positive effects of cannabis far outweigh the negative it is clear that our goverment is enforcing laws that prohibit people from "feeling better" and nothing else. i guess the only way to feel better in the states is to drink their poision until our liver fails.

well, thank God that nothing really bad happened. i was thinking about telling them to get a warrant, but felt that considering the nature of politics and law here in our town that it was best to ask them to come back later. after all my wife is not from the states, was sleeping on the sofa, and our house was a mess. the least they could do was give me a minute to clean up.
 
Burning Barrels. They are almost unheard of these days, but you get an oil drum and you burn your trash in the barrel. Everything burns except glass and metal, sort those out first, oh, and stand the fuck back in case you forgot something like a deodorant can or batteries. Those items like to explode.

cops dont care about whats conveinient for you. they had no other choice but to leave and come back and it wouldnt surprise me at all if they did. im sure they arent stupid enough to let you tell them to just come back later and not expect them to be watching you because of it. you should expect them to come back and you should them to be watching you already. chances are is if they came to your door their pretty desperate for some answers. if you ask me you gave them more then what they would expect. your not going to get rid of their suspicion completely and you shouldnt expect them to. their job is to make you pay for your crimes not find a way to keep you innocent. you didnt have to let them in your house period and now that you did they are going to take full advantage of it. if you leave soil laying around from your strawberry patch you think they care thaqt you told them it was from a strawberry patch. all thats doing is making them more suspicious since they already have the idea your growing weed in there because thats what they asked you correct? the strawberry patch i would say is obviously a front. they may not be able to get the proof they need but your drawing attention to yourself. i would say in order for you to grow again you would HAVE to find a new area to live in and not just the next neighborhood a new state. you can do whatever your comfortable with but i know if it was me i would have to feel completely safe before risking anything.

True that! If they are at your door they know something and will violate your rights to prove it. Just have a good layer on deck and dont tell nobody you business.
 
i wouldnt have opened the door and got rid of the shit. sorry you had to kill the girls but you had no choice. and weather you opened it or not they would have been back with some b.s. warrant! unfortunately i think its in your best interest to move! good job for quick thinking and not getting busted!
 
yes friend, go to a new state. if growing is your passion (as it is for many around here, myself included and i havnt even fully started my first one yet) then any amount of suspicion is too much, and if your town is as small as you say it is, you have 2 things you can do. 1. abandon all things growing (even the strawberries). any growing is suspect if you are ALREADY suspect. or 2. Move (like you said, i would vote Cali as well). the laws are a bit more relaxed, you will find a LOT less people are closed-minded and scared of pot smokers. In fact, if a neighbor saw you growing, i bet they would just think you were a medical patient.

we are planning on going to cali. iam not one for abusing a system, and Cali is as far as i know the only state that recognizes PTSD, insomnia, and anxiety as mmj treatble conditions.
 
forgot to mention as well, get a cam going for your entrance/exits of the house. if your gunna grow you should always know who is at your door without needing to open it or peer out a window all creepy style!

Yea the cam is a great idea that way they don't see you peek or hear your footsteps.
 
lol ya i didnt even think about the footsteps, especially if you live in something like a trailer, not to hard to shake some of those up just by walkin around (then again im a bit bigger of a guy)

and off topic, estesj, where is that pic of the id (your avatar) come from? random? cuz it looks a bit like Tech N9ne (and a kid i spent some time in Portland with)
