Allowed to grow?

Hi all,

I am a current Prop 215 card holder.I live in a apartment that does not allow the cultavation of my medical marijuana I was wondering if i was able to leagally grow my medicine at a friends house in his small back yard,if i post my legal documents and sign a rental agreement stating i am renting that area from him?He is not a card holder and will not be using the backyard while i am renting it.

Laminate a copy of your note and tack it up out there and you will be fine for a few plants. The whole legal rental agreement thing is probably a bad idea in your situation, and could obligate your buddy to pay federal tax on the rent you claim to be paying him. Just a worthless paper trail for small garden in a California back yard.

Thanks for the reply,I was just worried about me not living there and having my meds grow there.The fire dept. Is checking water heaters tomorrow and my grow is right there (only 2) and i was told that they will have to report it to the sherrifs dept so i wanted to make sure i was legal to avoid probs.never thought about that on the the rental agreement...well thanks again for your reply

Have you thought of doing an indoor grow?

Kaendar- Yeah i have done the indoor thing but i just wasn't worth the cost of my pg&e bill...I need to invest in a new ballast the thing drains..That's why im doing the outdoor thing this year but i do prefer the indoor controlled environment.

make sure you have a copy of your card and ID up in visible site before the sheriff gets there or they will take them and ask questions later

Im not allowed to grow mj where I live but I do anyways. I have a large garden with all types of plants and the mj cant be spotted unless ur searching for it

same here. it's only a misdemeanor anyways. most likely a citation and get your MMJ card taken.

If you want to be legit about it.. the only way to do so is look online for what YOUR county says..
Here I am allowed to have 6/6 and have certain county related requirements Fenced in yard 2000 feet from public school etc..



LIKE FF says... here too you can walk around with < oz and it's an infraction. (w.o a card)
each county is going to vary laws on this by the dill holes that set the rules for that town...

The county and state will find a way to fine you first and ask questions later, they just want your money anyway. They don't care about WHY we need it, they all think we are just pot heads and they can sponge money off of us for every little permit and what not that they can come up with. I say as long as your ID and stuff are visible at your friends house, a lock on the gate (to show that your friend doesn't use the yard or have access to it because of your grow) and you should be fine.

I run 2 6oo w hps and 1 400 mh for veg. Other small amount of electricity I use for grow fans, timers, humidifier, and fluoros cost me under $125 a month.

you'll be okay to grow in the backyard as long as youre not too close (usually 1000-2000 ft) from a school.

if this is really just a small personal grow you'll be okay. cops and feds target the big fish. its not worth their resources to go after 3-4 plants in a small personal garden grow. they want 100+ plants generally. you have a bigger chance of being ripped off by thieves/small animals than you do the feds/police.

with that being said you should consider putting a fence completely around your grow (even on the top to keep birds out) and as long as you dont have gophers in your area then you'll be set. id fence it in with a small chain link fence then put a door on the front with a padlock and you'll be as safe as possible. also laminate a copy of your mmj paperwork and put it inside the fence (so someone like a cop couldnt take it down and then claim thats why they busted you)

Thats not bad at all. Are you on some type of savings program? Or are you just somehow being charged on the lowest tier?

I've always considered a 2k watt grow in my house here in nor cal but am worried the electric bill will be too high. It's hard to calculate what tier I would charged and all that.

I always calculate at the highest tier. Even without a grow we're over our baseline anyway. But if you really need to, your bill will tell you how many hours at each tier you were for the last month.

In So Cal at the highest tier a 1000 watt light running 12 hours a day will cost me about 115.00 per month.
